Black crows?

Been thinking of picking up a pair of black crow atris’s or corvus’s for my next set of sticks. Currently on the CT 2’s and want something that’s a bit less of a noodle but can also still lay into a carve. Anyone have any experience riding either of the two skis mentioned above or have another ski in mind that they’d recommend? I’m 5’7” and around 125 lbs and spend time both cruising the local resort (Alta) and building booters in the backcountry. Any and all input is appreciated. Cheers!

for all mtn/deep snow capabilities ive never ridden a better ski than my arv 116s. i also have friends who ride prodigy 4.0s which happen to be the same underfoot while a bit lighter. less durable but if youre not ripping park they would b suuuper cool. i can hit the occasional park lap on my arv 116s but i only take them out for hiking days and cliff hits

CT 2.0 2021 is way stiffer than a 2021 atris ;) (they beefed it up)

I have both

corvus is more of a beast than playful

at 5'7 and 125 you can ski any of thoose and it will be fun,

I'd say hit a store and checkout the 2021 CT2s next to atris

revolt 104 might also suit the style you describe well.

I have a buddy who is 5’8 130 and skis on a pair of arris here in revy. We mostly do the kind of skiing you talk about, mobbing around, shredding hard on pow days and building booters in the BC and he loves them. He says he finds them soft enough to be forgiving, but i’ve also personally seen him charge hard and lay arcs easily. our other buddy who is 180 6’2 tried them and found they were a bit softer than his head kores (no shit) but he also had all good things to say. Don’t know about the corvus tho, aren’t they a true flat tail ?

I’m a huge fan of the atris, I ride it at 6’3 200 and works great. Thing is it is not the biggest “freestyle” ski, with a mount point of -8. I put my ski up 2 from Rec but still not like most.

Like the other guy said Armada arv 116 would be nice, vokl revolts 121 also would be worth it

Yeah, I like the 2021 CT2’s but I’m currently on the ‘19s & looking to shake things up. But yeah, they both look awesome and bomber

Corvus’s have a litttle bit of rocker in the tails but nothing crazy. Not like the dynastar cham’s etc. that have literally nothing.

Can't really say anything about the atris and the corvus. I have the black crows captis which are to skinny for the backcountry but they are great for carving and stay stable at speed, while still being playfull. So a wider ski from Black Crows like the atris might be the right the choice for you.

Can’t talk for the new 2.0 but i’ve flexed all the old ct collection as well a ridden black crows camox, and flexed both atris and corvus. The black crows are comprehensively stiffer, whereas the factions have more dynamic, softer areas that compliment the freestyle shapes of the skis. If you want more fun than charge, go with the 2.0. If you want more charge than fun go with the corvus. If you want a good mix of both go with the atris

I have the camox, atris, nocta, justis and probably a few I forgot.

the 2021 CT 2.0 is way beefier than the camox and atris, and I will get to you vs the justis, but I think it probably is more powerfull than the justis.

meh on corvus

the new 2.0 is now a beefy boy then? was a nice fluid flexing ski on the old blue and white tip ones

yes, its gained a ton of weight & stiffness vs the 2020, might say unrecognizeable from the 2020

[tag=249646]@Greg_K[/tag] and I are stoked ;)

Yes, the CT 2.0 much stiffer and heavier than before and a little less width in the tip and tail so less float too vs the old one. Much more damp and stable now so aimed at a different demographic. Prodigy line is the more playful line.

I wouldn’t rule out the current CT 3.0 though as it has a softer flex and lighter weight vs the CT 2.0 and would be playful like the Atris but far more stable and have better float.

Another fantastic ski in this range is the Dynastar MFree 108 which has very good groomer capabilities but is insanely fun and surfy in powder and soft snow. Places in Canada have it on for $640 CAN/$510 US with free shipping which is way less than you’re ever getting Atris for. Corbetts even has matching 110mm Attack2 13 bindings for $120 US or Attack2 16 for $145!

my local shop loves me (I hope), tons of friends and friends of friends borrow for free from me, then I send them to my fav shop for business. or online favorite retailer sometimes for items they dont have /stock

they have done more than $10k on my friends so far this season.
