Slightly related, slightly not. But there are primarily two different types of people who ski:

A: those who live in the now and live every day like it is their last IE the ski bums working the resorts, blowing trees, and being the overall best skier on the mountain

B: those who have the attitude that they should work hard now with a "real job" so they can save up for vacations to ski, and invest so they can someday retire and live at the resort being one of these big spenders.

Problem with type B is that though they may bring lots of money to the resort and perhaps someday buy a multimillion $ mansion in the town, THEY WILL NEVER BE A LOCAL. THEY WILL NEVER HAVE FRIENDS. You can't buy things like that. And they're pissed off about it!

Also, I was very dissapointed. She's not even hot, at all. Maybe 40 years ago...

You don't like them talking about weed when you think your 16 year old son can hear them? And why the fuck does she say that you CANNOT be successful if you participate in smoking weed? That is fucking stupid all I imagined while reading that post was OP's mom bitching to everyone
 
Fuck, double post. "You can't be a resort for high-earners and a pot-town" I think she has a problem with the law in Colorado, not the fuckingg resort, they can't stop people from coming there if they have smoked pot
 
Well fuck her. But no one is making her come to Colorado. My favorite part about going to vail Is toking with cool people from all over the world. I went to decadence last night a huge concert in Denver and I saw more joints than I did cigs. The world is changing.

Yes this ladey is bitchy BUT she has a point this is really a lack of respect. I would not want my son/ family subject to these things while on a family vacation
 
yes, but its common courtesy to conform to certain societal standards of decency. Generally, if you don think the majority of people would feel comfortable talking about a subject at thanksgiving dinner then its probly not very polite to have a loud conversation about it in public with families around.

16 is too old for her to still be sheltering her son though.

And from my experiences being around the people that have a C and an O in their job title, those people partied hard in the past, and still party hard now when a situation presents itself. Ski vacations are a prime time for those guys and gals to relieve their youth, and let it hang out a bit.

She is way off base IMO, but her views represent the views of a LARGE portion of our country.
