the top ten is all ceos, presidents, and founders of major businesses and corporations within the industry, but white and vonn are tied for first... congrats to bishop tho.
 
Jon Olsson didnt make the list but colby west and kristi leskinen did (both ahead of candide too)...im not saying its legitimate, but its definitely cool to get the recognition.
 
that was a really weird list.. just a bunch of ceo's with pro skiers/snowboarders scattered. though mcconkey/plake/warren miller would be way farther towards the beginning.
 
I figure with all these CEOs and manufacturers you would see J LEV somewhere? Easily the most influential manufacturer in terms of skis design in the last 15 years.
 
What a terrible list. Seriously, Lindsay fucking Vonn as the most influential skier on the list? Meanwhile Plake and McConkey are in the late teens. How much crack were they smoking over there? And Jake Burton, fucking Jake Burton, is behind Shawn White. Without Jake Burton nobody would even know who Shawn White is. Everything is wrong with that list. The CEO of North Face as number 7? Is this a joke?
 
Yeah that list is absolutely retarded. It might have been user voted though. Inless they are just straight up morons.
 
but he hasn't been involved with it in years, and he is an amazing filmer and has definitely had a HUGE impact on the industry for sure.
 
it is, no offense to dug, but im gonna say that pollard has been a bit more of an influence in skiing

they need a real list, without all the CEOs and shitty snowboarders

I seriously doubt that there could be a more screwed up list of influential people in skiing. Glad Doug is on there though.
 
fyi guys,

i used to work for the ski channel in a full-time capacity and i literally tore into them saying how retarded the order they used for the freeskiers were

they even reached out to me to help make sure the rankings weren't too fucked, and i noticed almost no inclusion of my respective imput (which would pretty much be in line with everyone on this forum)

p.s. the BONNIER guy being so high is purely a business issue as TSC has a huge relationship with WME
 
As soon as I realized Shaun White was #1, i stopped looking at the list because nothing they have to say after that counts. Worst list ever
 
this list only partially makes sense only because its a snowbiz list. so, people who are involved in the snow BUSINESS. this would explain all the ceo's and presidents in my opinion.

you guys are aiming for the list of 250 people who changed skiing as a whole, not just from the business perspective.

the fact that Jason Levinthal isn't listed and team managers and dudes who have been fired in the past year are makes this bunk...nice try though.
 
intriguing to say the least.

the legend section 1,2,3 is very agreeable with me for freeskiing and skiing in general. I can see why mosley was put at 4 but i don't think he's legend status.
 
i do agree in the sense that in "our" eyes. (avid skiers) she does not posses the same level of sway that Shane, Warren, or Glenn posses.

but in terms of the general public's eye. Vonn takes the title no doubt. She is for one hot, two freaking good at skiing, and 3 marketable. if you asked Joe somebody on the street ide bet my savings account you will find someone that atleast has heard of Vonn, and the most you will get is "glenn who" "warren who" etc.

even in my local paper they have short press releases about how she is doing on the WC.

if she wins one, let alone multiple Golds this year. she will instantly become skiing's Shaun White. (atleast i think so)
