i am buying my first pair of bindings for my new mavericks soon. I am unsure whether to get the new line bindings or get looks p12's instead. If i get the looks should i get the p12 or the p12 lifter. I have no idea about bindings at all so some help would be nice,

thanks Pete

I have the new look p12, and get them without the lifter cause i hear for twintips you want to be closer to your ski whereas the lifter would be good for racing etc.

Also the Line bindings aren't out yet and my ski shop hasn't even gotten pricing on them, but from what ive heard they have a release system that allows your boot to release more from the center than most bindings like the look p12, which have a rear release system, i dont know whether this is better or worse or whatever...

i don't mean you bob it is just that i live in britain and the only place for unbiased recommendation is on here

I was in your same dilemna. I came to the conclusion that Look bindings have worked great for me in the past and I have never had a problem with them releasing or not. I never felt unsafe with them. On the other hand, Line's binding is brand new and has not been tested by the masses yet. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but what are the chances that there is a defect the first year or the din setting scale isn't right. Plus, I had no idea when it was coming out (I have gotten 3 different dates from Line themselves and the rep told my shop October 1, and guess what, no binding). I could think of many reasons why I would feel safer in a Look binding, at least this first season. I patrol at a hill where there will be lots of guys riding it when it comes out...I'll update everyone on the injuries/lack of injuries later this season.

Just get the p12 without the lifter, save yourself the headaches, and rip it up.

I am the guy that fixes your broke ass.
