Bindings mounted left of centre?????

i have just had my new skis mounted with a pair of marker jesters. unfortunately for the ski tech and for me the marker jig was not wide enough for my skis, so he used the sticky jig (see through sticky plastic sheet) to mount them. on getting them home and having a closer look, i noticed that the break on one side of one ski skimmed the edge of the ski, whereas on the other ski, both cleared. thinking this was odd, i looked at the bindings on the whole, and noticed that they are in fact, mounted to the left of the centre of the ski. for example, the right edge of the toe piece is 75mm from the edge of the ski, but the left edge of the toe piece is 25mm from the edge. that is, of course, as opposed to being equidistant.

do you think this will affect the performance of the ski, hinder edging/carving etc. or do you think that the difference is so minimal that it wont affect me or the ski in any way?

any response to this will be greatly appreciated, as i am very anxious about this as both skis and bindings are brand new.

thanks

take em to the shop and see if they can do any thing about it cause it probably make a diffrence

a shop tech did that to my sisters rossignols. She's going to get them remounted in a day or two

I would be really really pissed, if they are brand new skis, a legit shop should replace them.

wow is it really that hard to find the middle of a ski? try to get them to replace it because I feel like that'd be weird to ski on and you dont really wanna have a whole new set of holes in your brand new skis.

I would ski on them first and see if it makes much difference, and if it sucks, the shop should replace them. You enver know until you try them how it will actually turn out though.

Same thing happened to my Rossi's. Its pretty noticeable when skiing, so if I were you I would try to get them remounted.

demand new skis. i had the same thing happen on my elizabeths, and the shop didnt even carry line but they bought me a new pair. just be very nice and say i dont want to compromise the ski or the resale value and ask for a new pair.

rytime i get a ski mounted with fks bindings they are always off to the left, but by trivial amounts that i dont notice skiing so i never even both arguing about anything, but thats a huge difference 25mm and 75mm, shit whats skis are you on, thats 100mm that inst under a toe piece

i just had the same problem with my skis..i have the 08 rossignol blasts with rossi bindings and they looked way off when they were mounted. I brought them back to the shop and they remounted them but the holes lined up the same so once they looked at it they realized one of the edges stuck out farther than the other one so it looked off but really was in the center of the ski. never heard of a ski built like that before cause they arent right ski/left ski specific but that was the case with mine. good luck with yours though

2.5 cm is a long way out..not 2.5mm??

if it's 2.5 cm it will be noticeable and i would really be pushing for replacement skis

what skis are they?

ya i'd double check man, 2.5 cm is a HUGE difference, i doubt he coulda screwed up that bad, and if he did, i'd demand a replacement. but if it's 2.5mm, i doubt it will be noticeable at all
