Bindings and mounting the ar7

So i am getting the 181 ar7 and im not to sure as what to get as far as bindings. I have heard good things about salomon and especially rossignol bindings. I currently ride 169cm k2 extremes that are center mounted with marker griffons and i dont want those due to the construction and i dont need the schizo feature like on the griffons. Also, i will be ordering bindings online because my local shop has super high prices on everything. If you have suggestions as far as bindings go it will be greatly appreciated and also with a mounting position. +++++k for any help. Thanks.

Yeh if you got the money and have the need for fks/pivot then by all means get them but if you don't need the higher dins because you're a lighter weight skier then just get a lower powered one. I currently ride axail2 as even after cranking them up I still don't need an fks and I am actually really pleased with them I've had no prerelease and they are holding up realy well so far.

Hope that helps, Joey

Considering your height and weight I would go fks/pivot ... I can't comment on the brakes as everybody I know who rides fks has never needed to replace them

yeah theyre a son of a bitch but if the brakes are the proper size youll be fine. bent a 77mm race brake aroun my AR6s at true center and when i step into the binding the brakes fold on top of the ski and they are never touched. i did however break my 100mm (i think) that are on my AR7s and they were uner warranty

Alright well i guess ill get the fks just because they are sick , and since im just starting out in the park i dont think i will have much of a problem with the brake thing. How do the brakes come off anyways.

And also, where should i mount them? True center?

It's more personal preference on where you want to mount your bindings. I ski the 176 ar7s and i have them mounted true center and i love them there. I hear the most people mount them either true center or 1 cm back. were your old k2 symetrical?

My skis (the extreme ) are: 118/85/109. Also they are deffinately mounted in the center..but im not sure of the difference between true center and just dead center. Someone told me before but i dont remember anymore. True center sounds good though for the ar7's ill be getting though.

i rode axial 2s and i'm about 5'9 and 135-140 pounds. they did fine until one day i landed backwards really hard and put a serious crack in the brake. a couple days later, the brake fell right off. i paid the 20 bucks to replace it, but decided for next year i'll invest in some pivots for the added durability. i'm only going to get bigger and ski harder, and even though i'll be riding the pivots on a low din (probably a 6 or so, i have larger feet) i'm hoping they'll be worth it and last a long time.

If you're only skiing park, I'd recommend somewhere between true center and 2.5 cm back. Many people swear by true center, because of the ideal weight distribution. I like to mount non-symmetrical skis a bit behind true center. I feel that they carve a lot better this way and the weight distribution isn't a lot worse. It's personal preference really.

Hey im probably just going to get the rossignol fks. Do you know what size i should get though? like whats the difference cause i dont know much about binding maitenence etc.

they ski verry well switch i have my chronics true center and there is not much difference but the all mtn capablites of the ski are way better then the chronics skied
