binding weight

i was checkin out some bindings at my local shop and relized that the look p12 ans cratch type bindings are extremely heavey isnt all the extra weight a downfall and for somone who cant do anything insane is it better to go with somthing lighter and cheaper?

I ahve the P12 jibs and I don't think they're that heavy, it's a little better for it to be lighter, but it will be hard to tell the difference on like jumps and stuff

maybe the wieght and price means there more durable. if you get a realy light cheap binding it could fall apart alot faster.

He's right though, if you're not that good you dont particularly need the high din, and you probably won't be breaking them at that level unless you're fairly large. It might be a plan to save your money. Make sure you have some comfy boots.

^^^ what he said is right. Salomon 810 stiaxe are lightweight but unless you have the din up a shitload or move the heel place so far up you can barley fit your boot in your goin to pop out. Id take heavier and more durable any day. Helps to shape buns and thighs.

they might be heavy at first, but you'll get used to them. I'd rather go for the heavier, but better binding rather than the lighter, not so great binding.

heavy bindings means they are built high quality (most of the time) ...and they dont cheep out on materials such as soft plastic ..look makes a solid binding for shure . iam looking to pick up a pair of jib 12's myself in the fall .

i got some older salomon bindings (like 5 yrs old) for 2 bucks at a thrift shop, they're hella light, and held up really good after 30+ days of skiing. Go with the cheaper ones, that way it doesnt matter how long they last

i have pretty much every type of binding made. most bindings weigh about the same. but my newest pair are the rossi pro 180's (the ones tanner/boyd/julien/philou) use. they heavier then the p12's but not by much.

binding weight doesnt effect ur skiing all that much. because ur binding if right under your feet. it would matter more if ur skis weighed a lot because generally ur tip would weigh more then ur tail. aka swing weight.

so dont not buy a binding because u think its heavy, cuz it doesnt matter all that much.

Skibum, it does kinda matter if they prerelease. However, this guy is light as anything and he doesn't need heavy duty bindings. I seriously, highly doubt he'll be able to break salomon 810s or even 7whatevers. Why would he spend more money than necessary?
