Binding remounting worries.

Hey. I'm 21 and like to ski a lot of park and recently bought myself a new 177cm pair of Volkl Wall skis mounted with Griffons.

Due to a cock up by the company I bought them from, the BINDINGS ARE MOUNTED 6 CM BACK FROM CENTRE. I have complained and they say they will pay for a REMOUNTING TO CENTRE.

Because I want them moved quite far the rear mounting drill holes will be behind the edge of the heel piece and I am worried that they are likely to just break when tail pressing due to stress concentrations.

Is it going to be ok for me to remount them or is the ski just going to be fucked?

As this is a symmetrical ski and the only possible place it should be mounted is centre, on the very principle of it I would be asking for new skis or at least a decent refund.

There's not actually a lot wrong with that extra set of holes, and as long as they're filled correctly they shouldn't affect the ski, you paid for a brand new pair of Walls, not a brand new pair with a whole bunch of extra holes in them. Even if they're paying for the re-mount you're still getting something shittier than what you paid for in the first place.
 
The only time you have to worry is if the new holes are closer than a centimeter or so to the old holes. Otherwise, as long as you fill the old holes with epoxy or something, you will be fine. The "stress concentrations" created by the heelpiece on the old holes are a non-issue.
 
my main issue would be the hassle they caused you, plus how did they mount your bindings without your boot? But extra holes devalues the ski. If you sold them to me after this year for example and I had to mount my bindings on them that's now 3 sets of holes and the skis shouldn't be drilled again after that.
