Binding maintenance for the summer?

So I'm going to be in Bangkok for the next year and won't be skiing for over a year unfortunately. Anything specific I should do to my bindings to extend their life? Relax the tensioners perhaps by putting the DIN at lowest possible or what?

Didn't you make a thread about this already awhile ago? I know someone did, but loosen your din, keeps the springs good.

thats taking it a little too far....it will stretch out the springs over time, but nothing even close to this statement is true. Over time the spring will get looser and looser, if know someone at a shop they should have a machine in the back which can check if the binding is within spec (look at the ones that are not....5 years + old left on the same din)

you couldnt be more wrong. I work at a shop as a tec and i can confidently tell you that you want to losen bindings every time semmer or long period you dont use them. If you dont thiey will lose the strength

I never said not to...I work at a shop as well....i was just stating they will not become a zero at whatever they are set on....per say mine are on 9...after leaving like that for a year + the 9 isn't goin to be a zero, it just wont be a nine....

personally i always turn mine down

You don't really need to on modern bindings, but it won't hurt, so go for it if you know what you're doing.

I would argue that you do, after 4 years my previous bindings completely lost their tension, i had them cracked out and i still released, so if you were smart about it id say take care of your equipment

^then put a note on them, or tape over the toe piece or something, come on dude try and think for your self.
