hey guys just trying to figure out what drill bit size I need for mounting FKS/Pivot Bindings. Also where I can get them. Thanks

before I post the following video, I must say, please be advised against mounting your own skis, that being said, here is a video on "How to Mount Bindings Freehand", I believe he'll answer all your questions in there.

Thanks for the video link, but I have a jig. I was just looking for bits. I just PM'd no_steeze and he cleared it up for me.

oh, alright, as long as you know somewhat about what you're doing. I've seen a bunch of posts about mounting bindings by people who don't know what they're doing. Glad you go it cleared up.

Binding drill bits are made to allow you to only drill so far into the ski. I would just look at the binding screws and choose one that is a smaller diameter and only screw a little way into the ski. Place some tape on the bit to make sure that you drill a precise amount into the ski.

FKS but i found it marked on my skis. Its been a while since i've done any mounting i forgot they usually list it on the ski. Thanks for the offer tho.

and just in case anyone searches for this info in the future this is the link no_steeze sent to me.

No Metal = 3.6 x 8 (Thin Core) or 9 (Thick core)

Metal = 4.1 x 8 or 9

The skis will usually say something on the topsheet, but you can tell by looking at how thick the ski is at the mounting point
