Billy Goat vs. Kartel 116

As I’m sure you all know, ON3P has been blowing up the past few years and I’ve heard awesome things from my friends who’ve ridden them. Honestly one of the only brands I’ve ever considered paying full price for, and my shop may be bringing them in next season so I might get pro-form. Either way, pretty sure I’m gonna cop.

That being said, my main questions for any of y’all who’ve ridden these skis or know the brand well, which ski would be the better powder ski? Obviously the billy goat is a bomber directional charger and the kartel is more playful, but to what degree?

I love a stiff ski, the powder skis I currently ride are line supernatural 115s in a 190, but the thought of buttering a ski like that is almost laughable. The kartel is attractive because it seems pretty stable but with some playfulness in tip and tail which would be awesome, but I don’t want chattering over exposure and I don’t want to bend them in half in deep snow or after a big drop (I’m 6foot 215lbs). Just looking for some crowd sourced intel, thanks team!

You’ll be fine on the kartels. I have magnuses which are rather soft and I’ve gotten them real close to 60mph and there was no chatter at all.

Maybe consider the cease and desist. I haven't skiid any of their pow skis, but it seems like its a similar chargey ski like the billy goats, but twin tip.(also asymmetrical)

Really? Center mounted and everything? Which Magnuses do you have? I’m debating between Magnus, Kartels, ARVs, Blends, and possibly but most likely not Vishnu Wets for next season. I ride the Midwest and I’m in the park 75% of the time and the rest of the time I’m riding groomers with my little brother or moguls. I was worried about the chatter since my K2 Domains scare me outside of the park.

Then certainly you should remove blends and wets as they are most noodly skis on the market atm

Yep. Centered and all. They carve sooo nicely too. Go with the magnuses or kartels, since they’re probably the most durable stiffer ski out there. Vishnus are anything but stiff but also durable as hell.

Really comes down to mount point and style. If you like to have some tip to drive your skis, go with the BG. If you want something more centered and neutral, though still stable, go with the Kartel 116.
