Biggest Ski Industry Flops and Fails?

^^ this. s7s are everywhere in Utah, i see tons of them every day, although that is about the only rossi ski i see, but for a good reason

i was in whistler over winter break and and i saw at least 8 to 10 pairs of S7s a day. it was ridiculous. like of all the skis i saw in liftlines and stuff, like 25% were rossis

realllllyyy????

How about one of their freestyle athletes who has been consistently winning gold medals this year in pipe, including both X games and the Dew Tour...

You might have heard of him- Kevin Rolland

except yeah.. they lost nearly everything from how much they spent on those bindings.. they had to drop nearly their entire team.
oh, and the atomic triplets. those were a great idea actually haha

Except you didn't read what I quoted. Line has never been in the shitter. Yea they lost alot of money with the Reactor, but they still made quality skis.

and how can the Bad Lieutenant be a flop? any freeskier or snowboarder you saw the first few years they came out wore one. sure they might be a little ridiculous, but definitely not a flop.
i'm also amazed i spelled lieutenant correctly the first try.

after k2 took over tho..? pretty sure for awhlie they had some serious delamming issues. there was at least two years of the invader where nearly every ski came apart.

The Head Madtrix with the bindings that pivoted for big mountain and big air!

Although potential for skiing equivalent of a bar spin right there!

1)saying facepalm is so gay

2) people say stupid shit all the time on here, how should i know if youre joking or not?

How is that the Biggest flop? I guess you weren't around for it but Snowblading was fucking huge.

It even held a spot in the X-games for I believe 2 years? Might of only been one, but I remember my boy Nicky Adams barely even knew how to ride them, went and won the X-games 1999. As much as people hate on it, it actually was huge at one point, and it did have an influence on today's skiing.

a lot of them before cap construction. My 1260s delamed in less than a season, but they were warrantied with next years capped so that was cool.

haha I forgot about the triplets...

I'd love to know what the meeting was like when the idea for those was thrown out there.

he might be talking about the binding that could swivel around depending on if you wanted to ride park or bc. i was always interested in it but i remember it being far too expensive for my (parents) liking

instead i bought "blemished" orange 1260s from the line site for 115 bucks. those things weigh about 3 lbs each. awesome.

True, I didn't think about them. I was a tech when those came out and remember getting a pair in the shop and thinking how heavy they were. I was rocking my line skogens then anyway.

Actually, he has skied every single weekend (and more) for the whole 3 years and they are still perfectly fine.
he does not road-ski, he does not throw them around, he takes care of them and they have lasted.
if anyone thinks they suck and break a lot, sure they do, but its all about how much you care for them

The 1st year invader (06) was the only ski with delam issues. I have 07's and they are still held together. And the other skis that had delam issues were before the reactors.

This past years Step-Ups yes but the Bangs are such a fun ski to dick around on. I wouldn't be hitting a main jump line on them anytime soon but for jibbin stuff you can't get much better.

they simply exploded. heavy as fuck.

they used sometimg called a freedom plate, so you could mount one binding to multiple pairs of skis, also a flop.

like was said, they were a good idea cause it had a universal 4 hole screw in pattern so you could have one set of bindings for your whole quiver. they also claimed something about the toe piece being safer for backward twisting falls, but i dont remember what the details there were (and anyway, i'll stick with my turntable Pivots thank you very much)

anyway they were just a surprising combination of heavy as fuck and fragile. i skied like 5 times that winter and saw multiple pairs blow up on ~20 foot jumps. total joke, so glad i didnt get suckered into buying a pair

not to sure about the industry's opinion on it but zero camber. I skied it once and hated it (completely dead feel) and i have seen them around for a while so maybe a flop?
