Biggest crash youve walked away from

Landed on the knuckle of like 30 foot jump right on my side doing a cork 7. Broke 3 ribs collapsed lung. Brutally painful. Skied all the way to the bottom though. Then passed out from pain

Know these kids personally. Was there 5 minutes after it happened. They were just laughing hysterically. The kid in the green was perfectly fine.

Ski hit something under the snow in the trees last season and I went face first into a tree. It was kind of a glancing blow, not strait head on. Split my nose open and busted my lip, but my helmet and googles took the brunt of it luckily. I will never ski without a helmet. That thing probably literally saved my life.

did this happen when the airbag was at springs?

lol bigger than any of Big Air Dave's pathetic attempts at overshooting 20ft. booters, that's for damned sure.

This happened like the week before it came to springs. I remember cause he said he wanted to try legit backies when the bag comes.

I caught my tips backflipping a sketchy backcountry step-down. Landed directly on my head and knocked myself out. Came to, vomited a few times, and went home and passed out. Felt unbelievably terrible afterwards.

i overflipped a backy and landed on my back on the gooch. got up and kept skiing. later i was struggling to breathe so i skied to the bottom where they told me i may have cracked ribs and my lungs might collapse

There was a big jump at my mountain (around 55-60 foot jump) two or three years ago, I went for a rodeo 5 because I was doing them everywhere....

But I ended up doing a rodeo 630 then caught my edges at 90º in the landing...

I was a bit knocked out but I was back on my feet about an hour later hahaha

what a crusade of an effort. Ski again that season?

Couple years ago a few homies and i built a pow jump that was way to kicky, first time i hit it i got shot into a really rag dolled dub backflip. ended up doing one and a half and went from literally 20 feet straight to my head. lucky it was pretty deep snow so I got up laughing

I tore my acl by taking it to the Candide zone off a canon rail. I landed it, but so backseat that me keeping myself upright tore it. Still counts though. Skied down on one foot then called it a day.

Hit a handrail when I was 13, shattered my kneecap into 7 pieces. My friend told me to get off the ground and stop being a pussy so I skied down on one foot, carrying my other ski. Once I got down, I took off my pants and my knee looked like a grapefruit. My friend felt like a dick.

Where did he drop in from to go that far?!

But I overshot the bigger "jump" they built for the mash potato melt down last season, landed flat and just compressed. I just like stuck in the snow, didn't slide or bounce really. Skied down, took a break, skied one more run and my heel hurt too bad so called it a day. Heel was bruised pretty good and thumb felt broken but it was good acouple weeks later. My friends and I stayed and watched for alittle and we didn't see anyone hit the bigger "jump" after I wrecked myself on it haha. The setup was one of the worst I've ever seen.

Park crew should be ashamed of themselves for how bad that setup was. I thought it was going to be sick when i was riding up the lift but it was a huge letdown. Highlight of the day was the 100 person snowball fight and I got the first pond skim.

Was doing a wall ride feature (well more of roof ride) and the run up was part of another run and it was pretty bumpy, had second guesses and tried to speed check. Went off the kicker horizontally and slammed sideways into the wall. Dislocated knee and big cut on my face from ski hitting

Went tree skiing way too early in the season, I was ripping at like mach 12 and got my skis caught under what ended up being a fallen tree. Stopped me right in my tracks and my body whipped over the front and my head hit the log. Walked away with a gnar concussion, a scrape that looked like I got slashed at the neck by a bear, and a really fucked up back lol

when i was little i rolled down a filght of stairs everone was scared shitless, but i walked away completely unscathedd

Did a super man front flip off a 15 footer and landed on my head cus I stalled to long....I got up right away and started skiing again. Idk how I was fine

I was on spring break and wanted to get some footy before I left steamboat. I tried impressing my brother [filmer] and hit a pyramid rail thing like 20 mph and overshot by like 25 feet landing on my side. I skied down but thought I had a concussion and a collapsed lung. turned out to be bad bruises. worst of it all my brother didn't turn his camera on:/

It was a major let down. 100+ people for 1 feature? I don't know what they were thinking. But I wish I didn't get hurt and could have stayed longer. From videos I saw, it looked like it was the best towards the end. I only made 3 runs total! Haha

Warm April day, tried my first ever backflip off the side of a landing, didn't tuck, landed on my head/left shoulder, got up, skied down, chilled in the lodge for an hour, went to the hospital with an awfully broken collar bone

In 5th grade the only trick i did were boner 5's and sent one off a jump, right as I took off one ski came off and I overshot to flats, no injuries just soar afterwards.

Last year at Mt. Snow I straight aired the last inferno jump and on the take off I wasnt fully prepared and was off balance and while my skis were flailing one knocked the heel piece of the binding down and I just watched my ski fall as I prepared to tear my acl and get a concussion. Tumbled to the bottom, thumb was a little soar and I bent my pole a bit.

Seems like I got a bad history with bindings...

Don't really know if this counts cause I had to go to the hospital because of it, but last season, when I was first learning switch 3's and 5's, I was at my local mountain just lapping by myself and decided the throw a switch 5 on about a 35 footer. Took off super weird and basically went cork 180 and slammed my head on the knuckle. I blacked out for a few seconds then just remember this guys laughing/helping me out while I was bleeding everywhere. Then I sat down for like 5 minutes and skied down basically half conscious with blood pouring out of my mouth. Got diagnosed with a concussion and missed 2 weeks cause of it. Not a huge deal but that was probably the gnarliest crash I actually skied away from.

On a pow day I was goin nuts with the airs and one big drop I did I landed a bit too forward tomahawked and when I tomahawked my pole found its way into my ass and it jabbed whenever I was upright, after 20 feet I stopped tomahawking and my ass was sore af, and then I realised that my poles were dirty sons of a bitch and they love anal. lol.

woods of Mad River next to Chute, goggles were fogged up and hit a tree, the incline was steep so therefore i double ejected, and fell headfirst into very deep wet, east coast snow.

decided I was going to show off for the people I was riding with and straight lined the entrance of a chute instead of billygoating, caught a tip when I went to speed check and rag dolled all the way down the top section. They were all very impressed.

ahahaha nothing like a bit of cheeky pole anal, walked away from it funny?

3 years ago i did mz first 3 of a really big jump (Absolutpark 1st kicker), was super hyped ans decided to hit the second kicker too. Approached the jump wayyy to fast, couldn't handle the transition, took of sitting on my binding and then i had alot of time to regret my decision. Landed really backseat head first on pure ice 2/3 down the landing. Layed down the landing a good 3 minutes without getting breath, then got up, with a bit of an concussion and skied down the mountain to the lodge ( I was skiing alone that day)

Lot's of concussions, several instances of broken ribs, torn this and that, all skied away from. Hardest one to ski out from was when I was up in the Blackcomb backcountry, boot packed out to a nice looking line. Part way down there was a smallish/mid size cornice drop about 20' and dropped it first with what looked like pure untouched below. Turned out it was that lovely blue ice below a fresh 1" of snow. Landed on my feet at first but the hit was hard enough on the landing to chatter my ski off, and as I was tumbling down my thigh went across my ski edge as I was tomahawking. I sliced into my thigh about an 1.5" deep and cut into my thigh muscle, about a 7" long gash. Looked at my leg in schock, saw my muscle twitching through my ski pants and yelled at my buddy to ski around and that we had to get the hell out. It was about 3.5 miles out to the nearest ski patrol hut and it was the end of the day, so I wrapped my leg up with a t-shirt and my buddy skied down switch in front of me yelling at me and smacking me to keep me coherent to get down while I had a trail of blood behind me the whole way. Finally made it to a small hut and collapsed/passed out from the blood loss. Was a big bummer, but got the muscle sewn together at the hospital, took some time off and got back at it.

The biggest I would say was when I tried a 180 over like a 15ft jump. Caught my back tips so hard I did a switch backflip to face plant.

I seem to hurt myself on the small stuff. Maybe it's just a lack of commitment.
