Big White?

I'll be there monday for a week. Hoping some of you guys could tell me what kind of terrains there (I wanna ski steeps, trees and drop 10-20ft cliffs). No idea what it's like there since I've never been out west. If anyone could share runs or whatever that would be sick.

Also if you're up there next week and see me (moment black/blue jacket, saga grey pants, domains, and ive got moment, saga, rockstar, and dakine stikers on my lid) give me a shout out.

Big White doesn't have that much steep terrain, judging from accounts I've heard and looking at their trail map. Try and get a few days in at Silver Star, more challenging terrain. If you are really into a drive, head up to Revelstoke. Unbelievably awesome every day.

You can probably find some more challenging stuff for you if you look. Like I mentioned before, what I said was based off of accounts. Also, the park always has a good reputation so if you are down for that, you won't be having a bad day.

I'm not sure, but there might be shuttles between Big White and Silver Star.

My buddy that flew out 2 days ago just told me his cousin works there and that he'll show us around so I'm gonna guess that he knows his way around.

I'm broke and already have my lift tickets to big white for the week, so theres no chance in me going anywhere else.

Big White doesnt have excessive steeps and cliffs so your gonna have to go lookin and asking around. I'll give you a few ideas of places to look for the best skiing.

Bullet chair - Skiers left at top of the chair, follow the ridgline down and up into the tree's around the ridge, nice steep chutes with powdery tree skiing below it. the sections called easter chutes and is the best runs on the bullet.

T-Bar - Skiers left at the top go check out the cliff, big wide open bowl, few big skiable chutes just up the ridge and if you hike to the top of the far peak (east peak) i've heard its really fun. Skiers right go as far right as you can to reach the area that leads into the Falcon Chair, lots of steeps in there and a few cliff bands. If your lucky enough to have the falcon chair open, you can see tons of sweet stuff from there.

Powder chair - go skiers right of the chair and keep following right/down until to find a long steep cliffband. tons of big size drops in there, gotta be quick as theres lots of trees aswell.

Gem Lake - go far skiers right of the chair in the out of pounds, always power, dont get lost. you can access 5 runs that are below this out of bounds by a cat track that hits eventually, these are usually closed so that means lots of pow, and unexpected drops. watch out for logs. Skiers left of the chair through the valley can lead to some big cliffs with a bit of traversing. Cliffs lead out to powder and falcon chair.

hope this will help you, if you visit all of the spots and search around them, you should be fairly happy with your trip. lots of terrain to enjoy

thanks a lot man. my friends cousin (his cousin is a local and works here) wants to hike east peak, and I'd be interested. I've got no backcountry/slack whatever its called and is the reason I don't want to go. do you think itd be safe for me to hike it with him?

should be fine, they will have the ridge closed and roped off if there is much avalanche hazard. its a relatively open area that leads to the lift so if anything did happen you'd have people there right away.
