big wave surfing

for those of you who follow surfing have you guys heard about the billabong odyssey? Its going to go on for 3 years to remote locations looking for the biggest waves to surf. Whoever surfs the biggest wave gets $1,000 per foot of face. And they are aiming to find a 100 foot wave.

yeah parsons is crazy. They have so many amzing surfers with them though: peter mel, ken collins, laird hamilton, brock little, shane dorian and a bunch of others have all signed on

That is awesome. I know nothing about surfing except from what I read in Outside magazine, but I know that to surf those waves you gotta have coconut balls, total reliance on your skills, because one slip and you die!

yeah those guys collect so much cash for big waves. think they are taping most ofit to document uit and shit but i dont know. Go to a surfing website and they will probrably have more about it

there are many new big wave events, with the billabong odyssey probably being the biggest. there called bounty events because you earn money for one wave. theres also a movie out about the billabong odyssey
