Big Sky Park 08-09

So Big sky updates their terrain park page on their website about once a month, so I figured we should have a thread so everyone will know whats up with the features. What all is set up right now?
 
3 flat boxes (really short)2 flat rails (really short)^^^ lameand a 20 ft down rail at the end, pretty steep, it's fun.
i think we're all growing impatient because this 'park' is a joke... but props to those guys for setting up some jibs, it's better than nothin!
 
Yeah as always were waiting on more snow to be able to expand. Swifty park needs another storm or two before we start putting jibs in there since it's all natural snow. This cold weather is great for the snow making on ambush. There will be cats shaping features in there in not to long. Today was my first day and the rest of the crew comes on this week as well, so we have more manpower to get stuff done.
 
and the lip onto the down rail is super poppy. hahaha my buddy popped way to high the first time he hit it and basically missed the whole thing
 
any word on when a jump may possibly be built? ive never skied big sky this early in the year until this year.. so ill be up there a few times a month... just wondering if they even bother building a jump unless its in the park under swifty or in the actual park when its open..
 
which side are you coming on from? spinning left or right?
i just come in fairly slow from the right side, spin left... but i don't have them very smooth, kinda just on/off real quick cuz it's steep and i'm still learning... hah. but i think once i get on if i can just remember to drop my front foot a little i can lock onto the rail a little better.
fucking weather, either snow lots or warm up a little... this frigid cold is getting old
 
Well if no one has been up lately, the park is actually getting worse I believe. It's moved to the tube course and consists of two boxes, a ball jib and the down rail, which is set up so it's really hard to get speed. Then the explorer park has 2 10 ft rails and 3 boxes in the ground.
 
I mean I just don't understand it. This is the worst the early season park has been in many seasons, and we have more snow than normal. Something seems odd...
 
yah, i have no idea... they are neglecting swifty, i would be content takin mini park laps... but my only assumption is that they're lazy (no offense isaac) ... or Mike the mtn manager is a complete douche and wants to postpone the progression of the park for as long as possible. I work fri-sun night in the "family fun zone" ...forget the tube park, but those 2 boxes, bonk, and rail that are set up; Mike came by to check on the 'jibbers' and he always has such a negative attitude toward anything related to park skiing... he pisses me off.
 
Fucking serious? BS is blowing it, hopefully they set some stuff up by the 1st or 2nd.
 
for sure. its getting pretty bad. i hope with all the snow from these last two storms they can move the park and start putting stuff up.
 
Last night was the first night we had cats available for park use. Until then we had been doing everything by hand. Example, pushing all the jibs from the early season park uphill to explorer. That's why tube park and other shit has been so ghetto. Tonight we start pushing in ambush, plans are to start with 2-3 jumps up top depending how much snow is there. Today we started putting jibs in swifty since we finally had a cat to bring them over there. Trust me it's frustrating, we don't have a lot of jibs or any money to build new ones. We literally go to the big sky junkyard to find scrap steel to build rails out off. Ha us being lazy is a joke. We want to ride a dope park as much as you guys do. Moonlight stepping it up is great, hopefully someday it will make big sky relize whats up. Until then we work with what we got. Go ride all the new pow, the park will be better soon.
 
my apologies... i didn't mean it as in you're not working hard, more like you don't have any help from big sky so you're just out shreddin pow like the rest of us.

the rails in swifty are really fun. the snow piles at the top of ambush park are huge, the jumps should be sick. WU TANG
 
unless i was lied to, word has it there are going to be 2 jumps opening wednesday in the main park? i'll stay hopeful, that would be ill. kick off '09 right
 
so whats in swifty now? (not quite sure why i care since i wont be back for 2 and a half more weeks)
 
alright so isaac i dont get it...there are quite a few of us who pour thousands of dollars into that mountain every year and then end up writing them hate mail because of their serious neglect of the park. cant they take the money from just one or two season passes and build some dope jibs. it doesnt cost all that much and it would keep people from bitching for at least another couple years. big sky has the talent but we need the features to help progression. its not gonna happen with five foot boxes.
 
swifty park has 2 down rails, one of them is round, the other is a 2 inch flat bar. there also are two flat rails, one of them is round, the other is a skinny flat bar.
 
First of all if any of you have even been riding in the park in the last week you need to buy even bigger skull candy headphones and sew more sweatshirts together into dresses so you look even more rediculous for not riding the snow that has been falling hard and non-stop. Also if you think that they base their budgets off of a few season pass sales you need to get off of the internet and go to school. It costs thousands of dollars a day to operate a ski area, especially when sales are way down and money is extremely tight. you are all a bunch of whiney D-Bags riding around in gay thousand dollar one pieces that your parents bought you so you can look like you know what your doing when really all your good at is suckin D's.
 
well all i have to say to that is you're a fag and i could thrash your ass all over the mountain not just in the park. go buy some fucking furs and stick to the groomers ass bag.
 
what's everyone up to for new years? abunch of us are planning on shreddin new years eve through the weekend... can't decide on if i want to ring in '09 up in big sky at whiskey jack's or at a condo in the meadow or something... or head back to bozeman. anybody else have plans in the big sky area?
 
not talkin about rentals... hah, i have plenty of friends with houses, condo's and shiz up there... just seein what everyones up to.
and in regards to the douche who is hating on park riding... this is the BIG SKY PARK thread... you sound really dumb posting shit like that in a park thread... go fuck yourself
 
not hating on park riding...i ride plenty of park on days when the snow sucks. just making fun of the kids that have been hating on the current park when they have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. And to the d bag above who could thrash my ass....i truly doubt that. all you can thrash is your boyfriends asshole if you havent already. MT Rush still sucks.

seems like the only reason there is a big sky park thread is so you can all bitch about the park......just an observation. oh shit i wasnt supposed to write on here any more oops.
 
have you ever read the park threads in MOST regionals? its all bitching. see the steamboat park thread for a prime example
 
it appears that this particular thread has turned into a vessel for you to hate on other skiers, if you see someone in the park on a pow day, be happy they're not getting your turns, but no need to talk shit about their apparel or riding style.
anybody see the big mounds up at the top of the big park, shit looks like it's gonna be fun.
