Big Sky employment

is there anyone whos worked at Big sky who lived in employee housing at the mountain lodge, that has some opinions on it?

hahahaha. now this is funny. im currently the "employee housing administrator" for big sky resort, used to be mountain lodge manager. its pretty much the ghetto of big sky, but not all that bad. its pretty much like dorms, i guess. they did some renovations this last off season to make it a little better- new carpet, new lights, new matresses, etc. i lived there myself for over a year, so i cant knock it too much. its right next to the black bear bar, which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your thoughts on rowdy dirt bag bars. its super convenient for workign at the resort, and for skiing in the winter. its like a 5 minute walk from the base area. the golden eagle lodge is a little nicer, but further from the resort.

also, condos in big sky are pretty expensive, so if money is an issue, the ML is a fine option. you'll probably be put in with someone you dont know, unless you come with a friend

Moonlight treats their employees way better and pays more for most jobs (especially lifties) FYI.

im contemplating on employee housing for big sky....but i mite go to moonlight instead....bleh i have no idea

any thoughts?

as far as housing, moonlight doesnt actually have employee housing, but i hear they will help you find a condo if needed- but that means more money. though granted, its worth another hundred or so a month to live in a real place. as far as which place is better to work for, i cant say. ive worked for big sky for 2 1/2 years and never had any issues with the management or anything. they kind of suck when it comes to running the mountain, and spending waaaay more on condos than skiing improvements, but they are not really bad to work for, in my experience. i believe moonlight has higher starting wages, for the most part. i think the skiing at big sky is better (or at least alot bigger), but if you work at one, you can get a cheap pass for the other.

ha ya mountain lodge is the hood at BS, but im almost considering living there because moonlight doesnt have employee housing but it would be sweet to get a little condo around there, so im pretty much looking for someone to live/move with for 08/09 season anyone interested??????

i just applied to work at big sky yesterday, so im not even sure im hired yet. haha

but im actually leaning more towards employee housing unless i can find some place thats really really cheap. But if you happen to find a place that would be prettty cheap and you needed a roomate, im totaly down
