For the 4th year in a row chestnut mountain is hosting the Big Nuts Open. Every year the turn out has been better and better and this year it would be awesome to see the best skier turn out of all years combined.

Who: Skiers and Snowboarders throughout the Midwest

What: Ski & Snowboard competition with Slopestyle and Rail Jam events

Where: Chestnut Mountain Resort, Galena, IL

When: Saturday February 25, 2012

Events:

Rail Jam and Slopestyle

Entry Fees & Registration:

Friday Night Registration from 6pm till 8pm.

Saturday Morning Registration 8:45am till 10:00am

If you come and register FRIDAY NIGHT, you will be entered in both event categories for the PRICE OF ONE and have a chance to pre-ride the course. (Non-open: $15 for both; Open: $20 for both)

If you register Saturday morning the price is as follows:

Non-Open: $15 for one event & $20 for both

Open Class: $20 for one event & $25 for both

*(All participants must have a lift ticket & helmets are required)

Prizes:

Non-Open compete for product

Open Class: Cash Prizes

*Cash prize for men snowboarder is min. $500

Product Toss with all leftover product from sponsors!!

12 and under

13-16 years old

Damn now I'm considering going, I have no chance of winning, but free swag and hanging with some friends sounds like it could be good time
 
More skiers need to discover how sweet this place is. This is their last weekend and yes it will be warm but their jumps and more importantly the landings are the best in the midwest and I've been everywhere!

Whoever is the groomer of their parks needs some recognition! You and your team take pride in your work and I can't thank you enough.

I wish they could teach 90% of the midwest what they do.

Next year put this place on your road trip list!
