i realize that this is a park related web site but im coming down in aug/sept for a 2 week ski trip before i head back to canada to start the ski season there but i want to get a jump on the boys and show them up in november. where is the best big mountain lines to be had. im going to be a bit rusty and out of shape. im not into to hikes over 2 hours long, i have touring gear but do i need it? where can i lay down some big lines. i have friends in turoa that can rip and im going to stop in and see them but where else can i go?

dude, their are some big big lines to be had like 1 hours hike from whakapapa..... it just a matter of going with someone who knows what they are talking about! And yeah, if your with dudes from turoa that rip, then they will know where to go!
