I like to do both. If I really had to choose, it would be big mountain. It captures more of the essence of skiing...
I'm not a big fan of pure park rats on the WC... it's hard to justify people who only ski the park on the west coast when there's so much powder you could ski instead. I like both, but big mtn over park
I love both. My favorite run in the world is at Schweitzer. There's a cornice drop into some bowl chutes that are super fun. They lead you straight to the park. Best of both worlds...
never skied a real big mtn line. but when i go outwest for comps and trips. in my free time i ski more pow in trees and drop cliffs than in the park. just because i don;t get the chance to on the east coast
truthfully, i would take a run in the park then a run in the pow almost anyday unless its sunny, i get first tracks, about 2 feet of snow and a really steep run. other than that, park.
Hell yeah! South Bowl rock is the shit too when the conditions are right. I personally prefer the runs that drop off the Great Divide like Misfortune. CO has bigger mountains with more terrian but most of it is too easy. Especially vail, its big but its like the Disney Land of skiing as far as going outside the park. Now I guess ill have to sit back and wait for Tedlangty to come out of his hole and find this thread to talk more shit about Schweitzer. Bring it on motherfucker...
being on the east coast, i think i might ski park slightly more. but when it dumps, there is nothing better than some sick trees and ec cliffs. powder over park anyday. im also much better at it.
i like nothing more than ripping powder, hitting drops, charging through trees etc. but i have never skied anything close to big mountain and seriously question how many of kids on here have.
