They want to do a big air event for 2017 in Montreal at the Olympic statium with the best big air rider on the planet for the 375 aniversery of the city.http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2015/06/03/du-ski-sur-le-mat-du-stade-olympique Its in French but just look at the picture it's gonna be fucking crazy

This would be freaking crazy! I want to get in touch with the guys who are putting it together... its our hometown - NS has to be involved!

so dope. I just read about that. I'll be pumped if that actually happens. Im curious about how they'd put snow up on the tower.

I think that they would use some snowflex like they do at liberty or they would do it during the winter.

Montreal is used to doing sport events that are related to snow. A small resort next to MTL usually lend canons or make the snow themself and move it by trucks. They will probably put the snow upthere by crane.

I feel like its not just going to stay on though, buildings like that are meant to shed snow. They are probably going to have to modify the outside of the tower.

Dude awesome! Do your best to see what you can find out!

from what I read it's supposed to be a ski jumping event, not a freestyle jump. but that doesn't make sense with the picture.

hey guys. I'm Guillaume Tessier. Me and my team are putting this event. It is a freestyle jump. the angles and design as been done by me, Russel Henshaw and Charles Beckinsale. Vincent Gagnier and Charles Gagnier validated the specs recently. We will be building a test in feb 2016. the engineering behind the ramp is complex. The elevator shaft as to be capped and all among other thing. We will be shooting the test. The stadium and city of Montreal are partners. The guys from the crashed ice are building it. its a copy jump from the MSP super heroes of stoke trick buster. 80ft take off to landing. the drawing that came out in the media is just a artist maquette. a official press conference will happen in September. the contest will be in Feb 2017.

more details to come.

peace

They'll put a net in there but still wouldn't be fun. That said fuck casing a big jump anyway. And you'd have to be real short to fall into the net anyway.

Nah, they'll grind up ice to throw down on top of the scaffolding then salt the piss out of it if needed.

Just by looking at the picture, how the fuck do you get to the top? The thing curves so its not like there would be a elevator and I doubt there would be stairs.

There's an elevator inside the tower that goes straight to the start ramp. After looking at it closely in person last week, I gotta say it is the perfect set up, it looks like the tower was made for this and the jump will be a step over!!
