Best Year Of The EP Pro?

Hey NS, wanting your opinion on what you think is the best year of the Eric Pollard Pro. Anything new besides the graphics over the years?

had the OG ones

they got progressively stiffer as they evolved, as well as the shape changing ever so slightly

I had the '10 but I had to sell them due to my unluckyness: for 2 winters the only time there were some good fresh snow I had to be at university for some exams -.-

btw I loved them, if I have some money i would love to buy an other pair but I haven't

I had the third model but I think the first two look the best. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the black&white model.

I had the first, the the third and the 4th. The most fun were the first 3 that were noodle soft. The 4th year was significantly stiffer and had camber underfoot. More of a ski and less of a toy so much less fun. I may drop some dollar on replacing my 3rd year ones at some point just because there will never be a ski like it again.

The best year was when they stopped making an irrelevant floppy donkey dick, and made a functional modern design. I.E. Last year.

yes, the first three years were flat underfoot with tons of rocker. The last year was slightly cambered underfoot with quite a bit less rocker along with being stiffer.

I liked the noodle soft rockered versions better. Not as my only ski but it was an amazing toy to have.

It's a lot more versatile ski. The EP Pro was very much a niche ski, and a ton of fun at what it was designed to do.

but far less fun

the whole point of the OG EP's was that they were that soft, when they started making them stiffer they ruined it

this. i took some EPs 9-10 up to lap park today just for the fun of it and it was great for a day. The stiffened version 10-11 i think, was nowhere near as fun. The opus is still a fun ski but just not the same at all.

fuuuuuck that. the original ep's were far better than the opus. the opus just skis powder very well. the ep changed how you can ski it. i havent skiied anything as surfey and poppy in powder as the original ep's. you could actually do legit butters in like 2 feet of powder, like get the skis to actually flex a lot and BUTTER. now with the opus its like any other pow ski where you just drag your tips and rotate around.

and you could still charge and hit massive cliffs with them.

If i wanted a chargey mid-stiff pow ski i could look at any of the other million choices, the EP was actually the only ski like it. and fuck dual camber bullshit, completely ruins the surfey feel.

i love my opus' and never even considered getting the ep pro. i want a ski that 'skis' not 'surfs' but this thread proves different strokes.

the best EP PRO is the first ones, the brown ones which op must be too young to remember.

I rock the Black and White ones on powder days. It's like skiing to Daft Punk's Digital Love on repeat...you just want to dance. I bought the Opuses this year and stoked but always will have a soft spot in my heart for the EP Pros.

I have the originals. I love them and still ride them on a regular basis. Yep, they're soft as hell, but for inbound days in Hokkaido pow, they're pretty much the most fun you can have with your clothes on. (And if I'm honest, sometimes they're even more fun than that!)

I just watched IDEA and remembered these! ahah

Is this ski what evolved into the OPUS?

Yeah it went ep pro - opus - mordecai - outline, but they are all stiffer and more all mtn friendly than the OG EP pros
