Best way to upload DSLR photos to instagram?

I use dropbox and upload them to my phone from there but for some reason the photos still get screwed up (the photo looks like I shot at a very high ISO, that's the best way to explain it) or it crashes my phone. I tried making the JPEG files smaller but that doesnt do it either. Any other ways?

The way I do it is by email. I email the photo to myself and then I save the photo to my phone and import to Instagram with Instasize.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe the high resolution photo is just being crushed into a smaller resolution and the noise is becoming much more noticable? That could probably be solved by just making it smaller using a different method, try some other stuff. I'd say just put it in your email and save that onto your phone like that guy said. ^

Masshol3, it is possible to upload images onto your iphone with itunes.

And creu, i believe the image dimensions on instagram have been compressed down to 612px X 612px.

that is way too complicated.

Plug DSLR into computer.

Get photo.

Email photo.

Whitagram dat shit.

boom.

1. Plug SD card into computer.

2. Put photos into iPhoto.

3. Put photos into photo stream.

4. Upload photo from photo stream to instagram.

5. Commence likebomb.

1: get photo off DSLR and put it on Dropbox2: save from dropbox on phone

3: ?????

4: put on IG and profit

I download off the cameraedit in lightroom

send to myself as a webready resized file on FB

I do this every day for work, the easiest is email a web/lower res copy to yourself and then saving/posting. Fills your fucking photo album up though

USB OTG (on the go) cable. 3-5$ off amazon. Just plug your camera Into your phone with this cable, then drag and drop and done.

Hands down the easiest one step way.

Just gonna go ahead and /thread

Actually I use an app called dslr dashboard for the transferring with that cable, forgot about that. It won't transfer RAW images though

Fucking mobile..

I use android, bit I'm sure there is a similar app on iTunes, and I assume USB OTG cables work with apple

Thanks for the suggestions everybody, I used instasize and that worked out pretty well. I have an android, so the itunes method won't work, but I appreciate the help.

The app I said is for android. So download that and get the cable and you're set. It's nice cause you don't have to actually hook up to a computer at alk

What I've noticed is that when I'm editing or posting photos from my DSLR on my phone they are very grainy but the finished product usually looks good.

I do this too, email it to myself then save in through mail on my iphone, but with too hi-res images instagram just crashes so you have to reduce it, which it seems you do woth Instasize, i use afterlight and it does the same thing - a lot of you guys might have it already.

I've got my phone set to auto sync when I plug it in so I just export from Lightroom to my iphone folder then plug my phone. Then screenshot/whitagram that shit. Speedy.

My workflow

-Edit photos in Lightroom or your favorite photo editing application.

-Export a good quality JPEG from said application.

-Drop picture in a folder on Google Drive called "Instagram Pics"

-On phone or tablet, install an app called "Instasize". This allows you to add black or white bars around an image so you don't have to crop to square.

-From Instasize you can hit the share button and send the photo straight to Instagram.

-I would reccomend never using the Instagram filters over one of these images, not because I hate the look, but because it will change the color of the white bars around the picture and ruin the effect.

-Post. Tag. Enjoy.

You can find examples on my account: @skaliwagify

import and edit photo, screenshot it, email screenshot to myself, pull it out of email and up on instagram

It sounds complex but it's easy

Basically a repeat of some of the others, but some say it's too complicated? I mean it literally takes a couple of minutes at most.

I just...

-Save photo as a JPEG after editing in PS. Maybe crop it to a 1x1 or add white borders

-Save location to folder on computer that auto uploads to google drive

-Pull up photo on phone using GD app

-Profit

just a tip, get squaready. its basically the same thing, but you can export it at a higher quality, and you can be extremely specific with how large the white borders are.

Export 1000px @ 72dpi, sRGB

Upload to Facebook

DL from FB iPhone App

Whitegram

Instagram

Drobbox or email also work well.
