Best way to start a WEBSITE

I was wondering how to start a website. like whats the easiest way. A couple dudes on this site have some pretty good websites, like the H30,two plank, penguin milk. I know you have to run it off a server and shit. And if you want a good one you prolly have to pay a fee right? I saw that freewebs.com thing and it looks pretty gay. I took a HTML class in school and want to try it out. So if anyone has any info or expereience please help.

As long as your material is fresh and you get the interest of ppl it shouldnt matter what your server is. As long as your good on the comp

I'm satisfied with geocities. It's really simple to use. Go and set up an account and upload the files you need for the site to work. They even have a webpage builder that's better than most of the free ones I've used. www.geocities.com. Theres probably better hosts than geocities. 50megs.com is decent.

if you took a HTML class you should know the basics ...play around with that for a bit them up load it ...HTMl is the harder way of doing it cuz you have to remember so much code for every little thing . there are programs out there that you make the site and it does the code for you ..like deramweaver mx . and front page ..even word 200 and up has a program built in it to make sites .. it's easy once you start .if you wan to make flash sites where the hole site is like a movie that you control from your mouse ..dont start off using flash it's really hard ( you need to take like a hole class ong it) download swish it's a program my buddye uses to make sites and it's just like a more simplifyed flash ..well have fun
