Probably major repost, but when i seach bar shipping every bst thread comes up because people always say 300 plus shipping.

So i called my local ups store and gave them the demensions of my skis and the wieght, and they said shipping to maryland would be 140 dollars, which i think is outrages, any body have any great methods to ship skis or what

um...... find box, put skis in box, put news paper on tips/tails to protect, take to USPS, pay cheapest shipping(like $20 for skis), walk away happy

assuming you are in the states, didnt check if you are or not

ive shipped huge, fat, long, rockered powder skis with bindings for 20 bucks USPS. Go to the PO, if they quote you for more than 30 or 40, keep insisting that they look for a cheaper option cause you know there is one.

called back, got a dif person and they said it would be 35, so im set, thanks for the help guys +++++K to all of you

Any ski shop specially this time of year will have some ski boxes, just wrap your skis up in anything towels, newspaper, bubble wrap and they'll be fine. Another option that i have done is to ship my skis in my ski bag works great.

If you're going to ship internationally the best way to go is obviously a gigantic catapult. If you'll be crossing the ocean you might want to look into a trebuchet for some extra distance. Not only is it as fast as gravity can pull it back down to earth but you avoid all shipping charges AND you bypass customs.
