Best wax for urban rails?

just treat everything loke wood or concrete, and poor water on it. If the rails are brutal, hit it with some steel wool and gulf wax

I am dumb. Just realized this is about putting wax on rails not skis for rails. Smh fuck me sideways I'm gonna go die now

For rails you fuck. Obviously it does for snow

dude if a rail is sticky you wax it. that's like literally the first thing you should do when you roll up to a spot. the composition of the metal doesn't mean shit if you just rub some wax on it

TIL that waxing aluminum makes it harder than steel, amazing life hack thank you!

idk dude I'm just very confused how you believe this:

it's literally impossible to slide an aluminum rail unless you remove your edges. The composition of the metal does matter, no amount of wax is going to stop your steel edges from digging into the aluminum

who TF makes handrails out of aluminum?? just detune your shit it'll work even if you find one. fucking PVC slides dude I have a hard time believing aluminum won't

no dude sorry youre way off here. there are definitely aluminum handrails, they aren't as common luckily but they definitely exist

and they don't slide, like at all. ski's edges bite into them, like enough so that it's pretty much impossible to slide. detuning only does so much; only skis ive successfully slid aluminum with i had pulled the edges out underfoot

lots of people they are everywhere

please film this and post it to NS

don't know the answer to this one but I'm sure some engineering nerd on NS does

hit me with an address for an aluminum rail in SLC and I will grind it

are you serious? like, anywhere at the U. There is a huge six kink that khai krepela has done, but as I said, he removed his edges first.

What rail in what segment?

I was trying to find it but couldn’t, it’s probably in some good company movie. Maybe it was someone else? I don’t know the names of any of the buildings at the U but it is aluminum and v large

I'm pretty sure I've found it, is it this one?

I use PAM, I like it better than wax

Beat me to it

if the rail is really aluminum your edges will dig into it easily since aluminum is softer than the edge of your ski. Even if you just grab your ski with your hand and try to glide on top of an alluminum rail, it will dig into it and scrape part of the rail off (I’ve done this). But maybe you could get away with some alloy of alluminum that’s combined with a harder metal.
