Best Urban Skier Ever?

This was just brought up recently...

but Hornbeck should at least be on the list. Guy has been putting out urban parts for over a decade now.

Theres so many notables though.. Bdog Clayton Vila, Cam Riley, TW, Ahmet, etc etc...

All comes down to what type of style you’re lookin for
 
Not sure there could be a defined one with how different street skiing is from skier to skier, overall though the stept crew for sure.

You can't really pick who is the best with so many different styles and such. Tom, Will, and LJ have been hitting urban forever and have produced consistently banger parts. Cam and Clayton have hit some of the gnarliest, biggest urban features, but haven't been as prolific. Henrik and Casabon have both consistently slayed the streets with their own style, so has Ahmet.

I'd give Even Sigstad a shout out, he's not super well known, but has really put out some good parts with Field Productions.

That's not all street, but it shows what he's capable of. He has some of the best, if not the best, urban fast slides and back slides and is one of a very small number of skiers who have flipped onto an urban rail.

Also JD Zicat deserves a shout out for his early street skiing, he was definitely ahead of his time. Corey Vanular as well.

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of people too.
 
I'm going with b dog. There have been more tech and burly street skiers for sure, but nobody has done it with the same amount of creativity and style b dog has. All of his urban shots are timeless - they're still impressive today and will be for decades to come.
 
Everything stept crew puts out. Not just the skiing but movies like mutiny are old now but still have jaw dropping shots. Lots of skiers have ventured into urban some of the most creative I've seen was in this year's super unknown. Overall though the cream of the crop clayton villa and cam riley.

Until i see people do trick variations on some of the massive quad kinks and challenging street rails and bomb drops Cam Riley has hit over the years...he's at my #1 spot.

^cam riley didnt do tricks. although he did some very impressive and large stuff, he shouldnt be thought of as "best urban skier ever"

will wesson is an obvious mention, so many years of consistent new tricks and ways to hit things and still going strong is extremely impressive.

tom wallisch is another obvious one, years of countless tricks leaving you in awe as you didnt expect it was possible or thought of

LJ is the last choice, slid a lot of rails that most people would not try to hit or think is possible, as well as some crazy technical tricks and he pretty much led the rail transfer game years ago. he used to step onto gnarly kinked rails off of trashcans with no snow in sight during his summer highschool days. been doing it forever and is a work horse.

and if you want to throw a "style" skier in there thats all B dog. not to take away from his technical ability but the guy has a way of making everything look amazing

i mean its all opinion based so yeah he could be thought of as the best urban skier, hes hit shit that nobody has touched since. Just because somebody can do a 2 on front swap pretz 4 out of a street rail doesnt mean theyre a better street skier. Consequence, location, height of a feature, speed needed, all of that goes into play. I think Cam has done more impressive things in the urban realm of skiing rather than a lot of other skiers.

Even though he wasn't very technical compared to others, Cam was one of the first to have a full part of only street stuff in Network, and I don't think anyone will go as big as he did ever again. I'd say he's the gnarliest urban skier ever, but probably not the best overall.

Overall I'd say either Phil or Clayton, as they're the perfect blend of tech and gnar. I feel like Tom could've been there if he had put more focus into urban. It's clear that his stuff isn't as thought out as the other guys mentionned here, and he never really had that one really influential segment.

I'd put Will up there too, as he's my favorite, and Dom Laporte, who's urban was always super legit.

I think people sleep on wallisch a tiny bit. In fact I think he might even be more prolific in terms of top level street shots over the years. In Wallisch project, level 1 segments, and good company segments he’s had a ton of really really good urban shots, enough that I’ll watch his stuff sometimes and see crazy banger shots that got lost in the ether of ~a decade of nasty urban. Remember his sw 2 over the fence into the quad kink? Neither did until I watched Good Company 2 again the other day

youre def right about him not having “that one” hugely influential urban segment. Clayton in mutiny is what street skiing had wanted to be since it’s beginning, it’s the consummate street segment imo and he’s my favorite street skier. But I don’t think his urban peak was as long as wallisch’s

That's why I said one of the first, I'm aware that there was already guys focusing mainly on urban before Cam, but his part in Network was 4min long and that was pretty unheard of back then

You should watch field productions movies there is some insane street skiing in them including jesper and his HEAD skis
