Best time of year to buy skis

Right now for used gear - so many people dump their shit at the end of the season to buy mountain bikes and stuff like that. Scooped up some boots, skis, goggles and a Avalanche bag in the past month of so for screaming deals.

yeah keep a good eye out now until the end of summer, you can find some great deals that make you wonder why someone would ever pay MSRP

Mid summer, because that’s when most new models release and normally the prices in the previous years drop significantly. For example, last summer I bought a pair of 2021 arv 96s for $550 meanwhile the 2020 arv 96s were running for only $300-350. If u want the new model then ur kinda fucked but I’d say wait till the 2022 version of the ski drops this summer then buy

Its a little slimmer pickings but late summer is when the deals are ridiculous. Just late enough to where it’s hotter than hell and people aren’t even thinking about skiing but before temps drop a little and people start anticipating skiing

End of season sales also depend on the region. Ontario ski shops had their big price drops in April because that was when the season ended

March to April; shops have to empty their stock to get ready for summer season. Its be best way to snag deals, but its usually what your not looking for...

Sign up for the marketing emails from the boutique brands like ON3P, Moment, Season, or whatever you're into. The blem ski sales have been in the last month or so. You can get $100+ off brand new skis from companies that don't ever offer sale prices. Only "issues" are super minor topsheet cosmetic defects.

This is true. Also, you can just write some brands too. I have had success with emailing brands asking about blems/last years skis.

I live in a mountain town, and the first snow/ winter cold (around September or October) is when everyone realizes it's time to get rid of last years gear and buy new stuff. The local newspaper classified section for "ski equipment" is usually four full columns.

Hop on that!

The only time I bought skis in winter was when my top sheets ripped off the top and they were already destroyed it was that or don't ski.

Just wait til the kids all sell their Vs when they realize its no longer cool and you can get the 177 or 183 for the low low
