Best thing you ever did?

It's not a big deal in the climbing world, but I got to climb Baker and Rainier in 2018. Best experience I've ever had. I've been itching to learn and experience more in the world of mountaineering. I'd like to try to bag some bigger peaks.

I actually made a list not too long ago titled "Thing I am proud of." I've been lucky enough to do a number of fairly "significant" things, at least to me. A few are:

Climbed El Capitan

Several somewhat impressive ultra runs including being the first to do a major linkup in a day

Harvested a truly exceptional trophy-class whitetail deer

Soloed a few somewhat impressive rock climbing routes

Thru-hiked the AT

There are several other things I've accomplished that are a bit nearer and dearer to me that I do not want to post.

Curious what rad things other NSers have done.

Bagged 107 summits in Washington but probably my biggest accomplishment was sking down Adam's in 203 cm skis with tge biggest iceiest sun cups iv ever seen, it was also the worst conditions i'v ever skied .

It's not hugely impressive, and I have no pictures, but since other people have mentioned climbing things: I climbed a pretty intense random cliff in the middle of nowhere in desolation sound. It was like 1 in the morning, on some island (maybe teakearne??? I forgot), without ropes or lights, alone, in sandals. It sounds pretty dumb, and to be honest, it was, but it was really fun and just a great experience.

I broke in and climbed an 800 foot radiotower in 8th grade.

i swam out in the atlantic ocean for 2 hrs to escape arrest at 2 in the morning as a whole police force kept chasing me back in the ocean each time i tried to sneak back ashore in a different spot. I finally made it home safe tho. i dont know if my dad knew what all the kurfluffel on the beach was and paid the police off to get them to stop chasing me in the ocean but i was glad because after 2 hrs drunk as fuck in cold water my beer muscles were wearing out and i was afraid i might drown or get attacked by a shark.

Doing some somewhat respectable trickery on skis was fun.

oh and some hot liftee at aspen highlands pulled down my bandana and asked me if i was corey vanular. That was cool.

Checked out the slot canyons below Cassidy Arch. Really dope. Should probably bring a helmet next time but a really unique experience nonetheless. Not the time to learn how to rappel however lol. But, learned a lot with friends and wanna go back down south for some more.

Lol this reminds me, I had totally forgotten, some dude at a ski shop in Big Sky asked me if I was Peter Olenick. Thing is... I look absolutely nothing like Peter Olenick.

Not too impressive by means of it being any sort of feat. but one summer day up in Marquette, MI it was super hot and I just decided to swim out into Lake Superior a couple hundred yards cuz the water was calm. it felt so good, it was like the epitome of a summer moment, it was my last day up north and I had spent the entire weekend stoned and riding my bike. just one of those in-the-moment times where there wasn't a care in the world

When I was in sixth grade and bottle flips were really popular I capped an Expo marker to the top of a dry erase board eight feet off the ground first try. Shit was fucking insane

Also I have won the school spelling bee five times and got second, third, and fourth in the state but never won

Lmao I remember in 5th grade I lost the class spelling bee cuz I spelled doctor with an -er instead of and -or

I biked down a trail and did a natty gap on it that some of the rly good bikers in my area hadn’t done even tho they helped build the trail. That or cuddling with my dog both make me happy
