Yes, but with the 90 degree initial rotation, you haven't really fully set into the momentum of, say, a rightside spin. You can fling it 90 degrees and return 270 with the same exact motion as throwing 90 and returning 90, but on a bigger jump. With the 180, though, you set into the spin harder, stabilize a bit, and turn closer to the point of no return (which could be anywhere, for all we know). Stand up from your computer, jump up, and spin 90 degrees right and try to bring it back as far as you can. Now spin 180 right and bring it back as far as you can. Even accounting for the extra time spent spinning right, it should be much harder to bring it back the other way. It was for me...
