Best skis of the year

dps wailer 112rp pure no doubt no questions asked. but I mean that's a pretty broad question, I'd just pick these because you can ride them on any day and be happy about it.

i heard the oakley osama pros really stepped up the flex pattern of the sand core technology.

...here we go again.

and by that i mean i dont think we'll ever settle the debate between the oakley osama pros and the burton hyphy sticks

don't wanna claim but we're just real proud that the the Sir Francis Bacon was very popular this year. Such a fun ski for all conditions. It was great to see so many out on the hill this year.

The bacons are super sick and could be the best one ski quiver ever made but....I really think the opus is waaaay underrated. Even with all the posts in this thread, I still don't think the opus gets it due cred. That ski is the game changer IMO.

Blizzard Cochise won the Skiing Magazine "Best ski of the year" award. Everyone I've talked to who has skied on them agree. They may be on to something over at Blizzard.

ski them.

and the opuses look like an interesting ski but I wouldn't say game changer. everyone calls the first rocker/camber/rocker with sidecut and tip/tail taper ski they ride a game changer. I said the same things about JJs. it isn't the ski, it's that shape in general. I'd venture to guess that one pair of dps pure skis is more worth the money than two pairs of any standard construction ski.

Can't quote on mobile but I've skied the JJ. It's nothing like the opus. It's good and if the opus didn't exist I'd be all over that skis nuts but the opus does exist so....

Inb4 the JJ is real similar. Let me clarify. To me it's all about torsional flex on a ski that wide. The opus fits perfect for me. Maybe not for everyone. So let's not say "game-changer". I will however say that the opus changed me and the way I look at and approach skiing.

I've been way stoked on the Icelantic Da'Nollie this year. I haven't been on anything else this year (besides my ripped up AR6's) so I can't compare it to other skis really, but it's been bombproof and super fun since I got it--plus it's got a 2 year warranty! Other than that I always hear great things about the ON3P Jeronimo and this year's Atomic Punx seems super legit.

Yeah I've got a bunch of friends who dig em. Big mountain types of course. I thought it was fun in the fresh but the tips were a touch chattery for my tastes. I have friends who ski em everywhere though. Groomers and all.

id say my bibby pros are the most versatile skis ive ever skied, id probably ski them even if i still lived on the east coast

If we're talking about skis that came out this year then the 99's for sure.

A close second would be the sir francis bacons. Imo.

As a daily driver/pow ski I've got to go for the Caylor, they are the most versatile pow specific ski I've ever used

how shit i would love to have a pair of expensive skis rather than a pair of actually well skiing skis, i bet you love volkls as well then?
