Best skiing in Europe in December and January?

Anyone here know which resorts in Europe typically have the best snow in Dec-Jan? I’m thinking about renting an Airbnb at chamoix for the month of Dec and Jan. But I’m open to other options. If anyone has any insight lmk
 
From my experience go as high as you can in altitude at this time of the year. Id go zermatt or hintertux (they are both at around 3000m ) . last christmas i went to avoriaz and we did only piste skiing for 8 days. they didnt even have enough snow to build jumps at the park.
 
If you want park then go to Ruka Finland. If you want freeride go to Engleberg Switzerland.

If money is tight go with Innsbruck which someone mentioned above. Cheap base and you got Mayrhofen etc nearby

Other than Innsbruck and chamoix, does anyone know other places that have good ski towns similar to chamoix. Switzerland seems a bit too expensive to stay at an Airbnb for 2 months, but I’ve only looked at zurich. Also note (I will not have a vehicle and don’t plan on driving)

You can go to Cervinia. Its in Italy and its basically the same resort as Zermatt, just the otherside of the mountain and you live in Italy instead of switzerlands so airbnbs, food etc is way cheaper.
 
I grew up skiing Chamonix and sometimes it's decent in January, sometimes not really enough snow. Just love the town's vibe so much, recently moved to Breck and it does not even come close to the Cham vibe. Pricey place though. Alpe d'Huez in Savoie province also has a lot of good terrain, I think you can even link up with Les Deux Alpes, and over from there is La Grave which has sublime terrain. Be wary of Chamonix in December sometimes there's barely snow. Maybe you'd get a better deal staying further up the valley in Argentiere which is at the base of Grands Montets (good skiing, good backcountry access, nice village).

Also wouldn't worry about not having a car, a lot of European ski towns are either purpose built at the main lift base or have a really good public transport system around the valley. Blablacar can be useful for getting a lift to/from airport but most of the time you're not going to struggle finding an airport shuttle to the resort. Also big up to whoever mentioned Innsbruck it's a cool town with a lot of skiing nearby and accessible by public transport (Stubaier Gletscher comes to mind)
