Best ski like the old bacons.

Alrigthy. I have a pair of the old blue and white bacons and absolutely love them and how they ski. They are in mint condition so I'm not keen to turn them into my park ski and thrash them.

So I was wondering what skis out there ski similar to them that's a bit skinnier like 80-100 range. I am in New Zealand so it does limit me a bit but I have no price range so open to any thing.

My bad, but shouldn't they ski fairly similarly?

No worries.

They are stiffer, and lighter with a whole new shape. Unfortunately I've only skied the new ones, but from what I've heard they are a pretty different beast, much more snappy.

this is true. the older ones, like the model OP has were soft and super playful

Also, to answer OP, the blend is going to be very similar, though a little less powder oriented, and a bit more all-mtn jib stick with a nice soft buttery flex

Sweet. Was thinking blend was probably my best bet.

You only get a couple of powder days a year at turoa so don't need to worry about that.

Cheers for the answers +K

If your wanting to stick with line definitely go for the blends, there one of the funnest skis I've ever ridden and really versatile.

Yeah, the older bacons 2012-2015 were a lot more playful and versitle than the new 102 waist bacons. The newer bacons are a lot lighter but I've heard they aren't durable at all. The feature a thinner edge and base than the older bacons. I thought the old bacons were soft and stiff where they needed to be.

I would think about the k2 Shreditor 102. Similar to the old Bacons, just not as soft as the Blends.

That's a good call too. 102 is plenty wide for all mountain fun and they look well made AND this is the last year K2 will make the shreditor 92/102

If I had to pick between Blends and the Shreditors, I would pick the Shreditors any day. They are stiffer than the blends and hold up a lot better. However, if you want something stiffer than your older bacons I would look elsewhere.

Just demoed next years Arvs or Tsts (I forget, hate me) but they were 106 underfoot and had a tip rocker and camber underfoot. They were slightly softer than last years bacons but plowed through the shit at mt hood meadows on Sunday. i could give you more in depth review if you want it, just pm me but they felt exactly like my bacons just a tad softer

More leaning toward the blends at the moment. More after something a bit softer but just as playfull as the old bacon but also want something a bit skinner as I ski mostly icey hard pack shit (makes the east coast a powder heaven compared to here).
