alright check it, i have pe's right now, and i don't really like them that much... so i was wondering what would be a good ski to fit my needs.

-i really like to ski park, i hit huge booters, all sorts of boxes/rails

-i like to ski the slopes, trees, powder and whatnot, but not as much as i do park

-i go on urban sessions, but not very often

-i don't ski very much pipe

oh, and i'm 5'10 145lbs

what ski is right for me?

i love apple, lanks, skibum_, lucyford, dfresh, d-rocket, cko, nopoles, gustle, spokaneskier, plumpwonton, melvs, caden, freeskigrl24, mikee, wrightgirl, missy, jessbuff, seanpistol, doc.dre, dynstrtm, Spyderxtra789, schweitzerski, hey_cutie, almostaskiier, katesd, lateralis, eastcoastpride, ekunz, $bhill$, *jay*, t-schill, *pinkgrinder*, J.D._May, shorty_t, jib_tech, niwanyshyn, ever_murky, nsnski240 and the rest of you are a-holes. smiles :)) :)):): )):): :):))): :) :))

I don't know how well ar5's would be in pow. MSP's ound perfect for you.

You're on 169s, so... of 2005 skis, I'd suggest ARV in 175, Scratch BC 176, or Maybe 178 Skogens / Nicks. For 2006, get Elizabeths. No question. In fact, it might be a plan just to get J-squared or Brody to hook you up with a pair of Lizzys right now for 400 bucks. Can't beat that deal.

it really depends on what you don't like about your PEs, but now that i've heard it i think it'd be a good idea to get elizabeths from j-squared or i think djxtreme has some

I enjoy watching people recomend skis they have never been on and have only heard things about, most likely from other people who have never riden them.

So please tell me, how did you like them and how did you find they were beter than other skis you have riden.

Few skis can be said to be "better" than all other skis, only different, and in that you've got a point... Lizzys have an extremely strange flex pattern (not quite as odd as invaders), and will take some getting used to... but I just like the idea behind them. I mean, anyone who's skiied fat skis in the park knows that if you can get over the swing weight, they own. So why not make a 172 110 waist ski for park skiing? On top of that, they actually have a bit of sidecut, so they can carve, and although they aren't really a big mountain ski by design, taking them in some soft stuff doesn't seem to be a big problem owing to girth. I don't know, it's just a good all around idea, in my opinion. As for the 05 skis, well, you can look for reviews of them elsewhere, there are certainly plenty to choose from.

That was basically my point, alot of people seem to be bandwagoning on the elizabeth when they haven't even skiied it to know hows its different, you apparently do. However there are tons of skis on the market that are as good as what someone will come on here and say "this is the best ski i have ever riden". Its just all preference and people shouldn't try to narrow it down to something like "elizabeths are your best bet", when for what hes saying he likes id recomend arvs, msps, moships, tons of other skis, and yes elizabeths because they are a fun ski, definately limited however. Just find the best deal you can get and jump on it, which right now its hard to beat the deal on those elizabeths for sure.

demo demo demo. although many people on here have their opinions that are often mistaken for facts, most have no idea what they are talking about. go out and demo the skis and see for yourself what is good for you. don't go buy msps just because 5 people say "they rule."

See, it's a catch 22... most people can't accurately review skis they don't own, but people who do own them are horribly, horribly biased. Martock is a good example, I've never seen him pass up an opportunity to talk about how much he loves 4frnt... no offense, but you really do. So yeah... demoing is really the only way to be completely sure.

if you are talking about me, you're wrong...if not, nevermind, but i've skied the msp and hated it. i also try to make a point to never give a review of a stick i haven't skied.

either way...DEMO. i wouldn't trust 95% of the reviews on here

I'm speakingin general. There are a lot of skis that can't be reviewed by someone who's only skiied them once. Take the Elizabeth... skiing that is going to take a ton of getting used to. I'm not a huge fan of 4frnt (STLs suck balls, although I'd be interested in trying a 187 MSP), but are you sure they wouldn't grow on you?

Of course, demoing will cause similar problems. Fuck it, everyone should just get a pair of ARVs and be done with it.

definitely agreed on the fact that you need to ski a stick several times before making a qualified judgment, especially something like the lizzy, since it's so different than most other skis i am on most of the time.

as for the msp (which i was on the 187 when i skied it), i was on it enough times to realize i would never want it in my quiver. i could go into specifics as to why, but i think that is beside the point here

Well, you choose to ski on Jp vs. Juliens, so clearly your opinion on ski quality is ultimately worthwhile... I won't question it.

Softer but not lighter. They might even be a bit heavier, but I didn't really notice a weight difference from hefting them in the shop. Seems like an improvement to me, but I say that without having been on them.

the 05/06 pe's are a sick ski. definitely an improvement over last year in my opinion. it's a great all -mtn ski for someone who doesn't find deep pow too often. it's also one of my favorite pipe skis ever.

on the other hand, i am a huge advocate of fatter skis, so i'd always recommend something bigger.

sick ski nonetheless

yes, i like a little beefier ski under my feet. so much more fun. and i think it's easier to ski switch with a stiffer ski, but maybe that's just me.

sometimes i wonder what you people are trying to tell me... 'you want a very stiff but flexible ski, that's really fat, but thin' i do not understand.

i love apple, lanks, skibum_, lucyford, dfresh, d-rocket, cko, nopoles, gustle, spokaneskier, plumpwonton, melvs, caden, freeskigrl24, mikee, wrightgirl, missy, jessbuff, seanpistol, doc.dre, dynstrtm, Spyderxtra789, schweitzerski, hey_cutie, almostaskiier, katesd, lateralis, eastcoastpride, ekunz, $bhill$, *jay*, t-schill, *pinkgrinder*, J.D._May, shorty_t, jib_tech, niwanyshyn, ever_murky, nsnski240 and the rest of you are a-holes. smiles :)) :)):): )):): :):))): :) :))

You probably want something with a medium flex I guesss, and decent girth. I dunno. I dont see why you would get someone else to tell you what you want. You tell us, do you like fat or skinny? Stiff or soft? Or what values of aski do you care about most? Butters or stability or what?

well i posted all the info at the top, and i can't demo every ski out there, that's why i'm asking for some help. so maybe somebody that knows something about skis could help me out.

again, i like to ski park alot (not much pipe though), i like to ski the slopes, powder/trees somewhat, something that will hold up while urbaning.

1)you didnt really say what you like in a ski you said what you like to do, but different people like different types of skis in the same situation. Say wether you like the stability of fat skis or the softness for buttering ect.

2)do not use your regular park skis as your urban skis, thats just stupid and will trash them extremely quickly

Im assuming you dont like your pes because you feel that they are a little soft all mountain and a little stiff for your liking in park.

Skinny and soft: Thalls, new atomic stuff?

Skinny and stiff:mad trix,p2s,tweaks

Fat and soft: pistols, moship flites, fujatives, stls(skinnier but still fatter than your pes), elizabeths

Fat and stiff:moships tis, msps, prophets (varying waist sizes)

Of course there are tons of other skis that are as good or beter as those but those are just some of your choices.

ok, no one is getting what i'm saying at all, because i don't know what the hell i like (soft vs stiff, fat vs thin) so i'll just simplify it even further... i want a park ski that will also hold up all mountain.

i love apple, lanks, skibum_, lucyford, dfresh, d-rocket, cko, nopoles, gustle, spokaneskier, plumpwonton, melvs, caden, freeskigrl24, mikee, wrightgirl, missy, jessbuff, seanpistol, doc.dre, dynstrtm, Spyderxtra789, skibrdingbitch, schweitzerski, hey_cutie, almostaskiier, katesd, lateralis, eastcoastpride, ekunz, $bhill$, *jay*, t-schill, *pinkgrinder*, J.D._May, shorty_t, jib_tech, niwanyshyn, ever_murky, nsnski240 and the rest of you are a-holes. smiles :)) :)):): )):): :):))): :) :))
