Best shitty camcorder

looking for something with the “old skool” look. Something an early 2000s street edit would look like. Thinking like HVX or something?
 
A lot of these "shitty" cameras are starting to become like Toyota Supras or rare Pokemon cards. They are becoming heavily desired by a lot of people from what I have experienced.

I find that the best "shitty" looks for the price come from plugins, I use the VHS plugin from https://www.redgiant.com/products/universe/. It is a good amount of money so I have the student edition which gives me 1/2 off.
 
I’d buy an older SD card camera so you don’t have to go through the trouble of dealing with tapes.

It’s not going to look like a vx1000 or any tape camera, but an older Sony handicam and a opteka fisheye will get the job done.

a good hvx is gonna run you 8-900 bucks and p2 cards are a pain in the ass, not to mention expensive.

HMC150 is basically as close as it gets to an hvx but with SD cards. Body is pretty much identical

I wish i could help you out, but no. I got mine off craigslist for 400 with a pelican case. I wouldn't have found it if I didn't look in every area in about a 200-mile radius of my house. Scrounge the listings of Craig, scrounge eBay, have seen a few at government auctions. Colleges sometimes don't use them anymore. Call around, its worth the work

True, it’s unsatisfying, but a good plug in will do the trick. Other options include:

-Ask Grandma for her old jawns

-@ skatecamerasales on IG

I bought a DVX last year for like 250. Very rad. Even came with Vishnu sticker on it. Exactly what i wanted. ”2000’s Skate Video” look. Cost me damn near the same for that Daisy Chain u see (DV to MacBook) but hey! Now I can warn a brotha.
