Best resorts for park in CT?

Sundown is probably the best as far as CT goes. And sundown staff posts here somewhat frequently.

Southington has been improving a lot lately and is closer than sundown for you.

Powder Ridge is trash.

Woodbury is fun for the early park season I.E. november.

Do you plan to ski outside of CT this year? I work in New Haven and personally I get a pass to Mount Snow in VT. I'm thinking bout getting a southington pass as well this year just because its really close to where I live.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into Southington, it is only 30 minutes away!

Haha that is a good question, honestly school is taking so much time that I don't think that will be possible. Definitely not opposed to the idea though, just not sure of its feasibility.

Welcome to the area.

Connecticut has some very passionate skiers. I know you'll find a clique and enjoy your time here. It's not big skiing, but at least its skiing.

I'll refrain from making recommendations as i work at Sundown, and say that each area in the state has its quirks and its awesomeness.

I look forward to seeing you out on the hills.

Welcome to the area man! I also work in New Haven and am going to pick up a Mount Southington pass. So if you ever need someone to ride with let me know!

Welcome man. I live about 3 steps away from southington. Its a fun mountain to go screw around the park at but I mean the 500 dollars they get you for a pass is insane. Thats the one issues with trying to ski in CT, Mountain passes are stupid expensive and the mountains(hills) are mad small. Im not hating on CT I just think that they need to lower their ridiculous prices. Anyways look into butternut ski area. Its about an hour-hour and a half away from you. Fun mountain and at least theres some room to ski. Plus the passes are mad cheap. Good luck in Ct man and once again welcome!

Totally agree with this. If you remember that "blizzard" we got last year where all the roads were closed for a while, I thought about making the journey to Sundown since my classes were cancelled and no work that day. That is until I saw the ticket prices. It's like $50 for a day and in my opinion that is no where worth it when I can get the Double Down for $375. Yea, it's farther but I think it's worth it for the exponentially better mountains.
