I'm moving to south Tahoe in July and I'm trying to figure out the best places to ride next winter! Probably going to work at a mountain if I can. I've never been out west so any other tips are appreciated too!

For park Boreal and NorthStar, Pillow Stashes hit up kirkwood, if you wanna holler at some kooks heavenly all day

Pillows at Kirkwood? Hmmmm

OP, get on an epic passes. Kirkwood and heavenly are your South lake mtns, and Northstar is the nortjlake option.

if you want park go to boreal or North Star. If you want to Rip around and hit some sweet terrain then go to squaw or kirkwood, also mount rose is rad with some nice chores and steep terrain plus it usually dosen't get to crowded. I don't ski at Tahoe and have only been there once on a trip so you might want to ask someone more familiar with it but this is what I got from it when I was there.

If you are going to be in South Lake Kirkwood is sick, but it is not right there. If I lived in South Lake Kirkwood is where I would ski. I have never skied Heavenly, but when I lived in Tahoe (Tahoe City on the north side of the lake) I skied Squaw everyday and no one I knew would bother paying to take a trip to Heavenly. People would sometimes make the drive to Kirkwood, but not Heavenly. Still, Heavenly is right in South Lake so that might be your best option as far as working goes. If I were you I would try to work nights and get the Epic pass, that will allow you to ski all day and hit Kirkwood or Heavenly. The only problem is that if you work in a restaurant and start work at, say, 3, you won't be able to get a long day at Kirkwood as it is a bit of a drive. I prefer the north side myself, but I used to live there so I am biased. Kirkwood is sick though, great terrain and lots of snow. I know plenty of people that swear by it.

I was out for Christmas Break for my first time

I skied Kirkwood, Mt. Rose, Squaw, and Northstar.

Northstar and Boreal probably have the best parks, Sierra is alright as well

Kirkwood has mad fun cliffs and stuff to mob and slash around at, my favorite place from the trip, little further away but not very crowded

Squaw is Squaw, not much else needed to say, all mountain dream

Mt. Rose was super fun, chutes were awesome and its a local spot so it wasn't crowded at all
