looking for a mountain that has got some great woods and solid cliffs and is going to have good snow..... where should i go?

Jay Peak and Stowe get it consistently more than anywhere else on the east (esp. Jay). MRG and Magic are so sick if you get them on a good day, but unfortunately they are less common there than further north due to elevation.

Spot on.

Magic rocks major socks terrain wise with PLENTY of stuff to jump off and some really stellar trees (hint - ask around while there. Some of the best is not super visible). Unfortunately it is located in Southern VT, which means less snowfall. If you get the opportunity to catch it on a storm day, take it. You will not regret it.

If you're looking for a season full of trees and powder in the east, Jay is your answer. Consistently the most snowfall in the east paired with great inbounds trees, plenty of stuff to jump off and great sidecountry.

Don't think that Jay is guaranteed to be powder and unicorns when you visit though, because like any east coast mountain, it can be bulletproof if the weather is fickle.

mad river glen sugarloaf any backcountry also quebec is good and gets shitted on early season too but its not as steep

Like people have said, Jay consistently has pow, even a few days after a storm due to the large amount of tree skiing. Most is easily accessible because they have cleared out a ton of glades in the past few years. You mentioned a desire to drop cliffs, which unfortunately, jay has very few of except for up near the summit above some of the face chutes. Those can be tough to get to, especially on weekends, because they're only accessible from the tram which can have pretty long lines.

As far as Vermont, (idk about in other states), mad river probably has the best cliff skiing. The cliff bands are visible from the lifts, and many have been cleared out. Pow disappears much faster at mad river, and stashes are a lot harder to find.
