Best piece of free/heavily discounted gear you’ve gotten

Just wanted to make a thread seeing the best steals other NS members have gotten.

For me when I was working at a internship for W.L. Gore&Associates (they make goretex among other things) they were doing a free raffle to replace the old gear they had on display, and I won a pair of anon googles with a spherical lens that were like 120 dollar retail. I had the biggest shit eating grin that day.
 
i bought goggles from sweden and the UPS guy showed up at my door and made me pay another 70$ in shipping fees to UPS

i haven’t gotten any good steals but i am pretty proficient at getting boned trying to buy ski gear

Scored a Strafe Nomad Jacket and Pants combo from Sierra Trading post for about 250 bucks a few years ago. Still going strong. I want to replace it. But I know I will pay out the ass to get anything close to it performance wise for under 600 bucks.
 
I was a volunteer for NWAC's (NW Avalanche Center) fundraiser at Evo a few years ago, where they have a pretty cool raffle at the end of the night. It was crazy the amount of cash those Amazon tech-nerds were throwing down for raffle tickets, but it didn't matter cuz the volunteers were given a few raffle tickets for free as a thank you, and I ended up walking away with a pair of Voile V8 skis even though I don't tour, haha! Flipped it asap for a pair of Bents (before they lightened up the core).
 
One time when I was like 13 I traded [tag=1356]@quebecfreestyler[/tag] a camera for a pair of Atomic Punx and the core was cracked (we were both aware of this during the trade) and I took them to my shop and Atomic some how warrantied them and I got the next years ski hot off the press. Needless to say I was stoked.
 
191 On3p caylor. 150$. Good condition. Been my favorite ski of all time. Didn’t need a ski at the time but my good friend convinced me to buy them. Super glad my homie talked me into it

Mint condition hell bents for 25$ and a pair of armada ARVs for free from some hella rich guy in park city selling his kids ski gear since he moved out and hadn’t heard from him in over 3 months ?
 
Brand new released Full tilt drop kick pros off the shelf for $300 when retail was $500 cuz my dad ran that mountain for like 20 years
 
Never mounted Marksman for 90 bucks. I think there was something wrong with them though because they got very destroyed in like 20 days.
 
Got my current pair of drop kick pros for 240 (last years model) off of gear trade brand new. Ended up being a bit more than half off

Bought a pair of Praxis Ultralight core Backcountry's off a craigslist deal for 375 with Solomon guardians and skins. Sold the guardians for like 150ish i think.

So I got a 1400 dollarish ski and a set of skins for like 225. Been doing me great for the last 4 seasons.
 
Bought a new Oakley Seth Morrison pro jacket (the green one) for 50 bucks at COC many years ago. Was way too big for me but I wore it for like 6 seasons.
 
A ski patroller was giving out retro columbia goretex shell jackets to all the employees at the resort I work at (small resort). I grabbed 2 because he had so many. The 2 jackets I got are literally brand new without tags. I have to say that older gear is WAY better quality than almost anything coming out today, except for like north face summit series gear which is $1000+
