Whats up guys, I need some help picking a new ski. Im starting to move more out of the park and am looking for a fun playful all mountain jib ski that can be a awesome one ski quiver. I ski mainly on the east coast 35% park and 65% all mountain and woods riding when we actually have snow. Im lost in the worm hole of every ski saying its the best at everything and want some input from people who have actually ridden the skis thanks.

Stats:

5'11

155lbs

+K for some help

I've spent at least a few days on each of these skis (except the J Skis Vacation which I've only had a couple of runs on). My personal pick, especially for the east, would be the 18-19 ARV 106. The overwhelming majority vote here is clearly for the Kartel 108, but I'm gonna go with the unpopular opinion here and say that I find they have too much rocker when it gets icy/hard snow conditions, especially if you're going to be hitting rails and losing most of your effective edge underfoot, with such a short running length anyway. I love the ON3P durability and they float great on deep days, so I can't say they aren't a good option, but for me they are more of a west coast/big resort ski though.

I prefer the way the 106 (and the Sir Francis Bacon) ski in what would be fairly typical east coast, hard/icy/shallow snow conditions because they have much mellower rocker profiles/more effective edge. I marginally prefer the ARVs to the Bacons, and the new 106 for 18-19 is even better. I think they float a touch better in deep snow and feel more solid, whereas the Bacons feel quicker/lighter thanks to a shorter radius but don't feel quite as stable/tough. I rarely end up skiing in tight spaces so I prefer the ARV, if I skied more tight trees, I think I'd prefer the Bacon.
