FUnny you mention Troy as a good score, because I think it was one of Horner's weaker scores (I think he had to rush it after a botched score by somebody else). Way too brassy even compared to something like gladiator which I find pretty slick.

Star wars is ill, braveheart. as somebody mentioned schindlers list. Titanic is tight (with some exceptions) as is lawrence of arabia.

Ok sorry for the double post.
TOP GUN. For some reason I really enjoyed the music in that movie. Can't believe I forgot it.
And for the epic scores, I usually find that I don't notice them if they're done well, and they just blend seamlessly with the movie and contribute to how much I like the movie.
