I got a canon eos rebel t2i and I have the standard 18-55 lense and I was wondering what lens I should get next, just for filming.

Aw shit haha I was in school and super bored mostly just park skiing price range probably a couple hundred I don't really do photography so just filming

Maybe a UWA (ultra wide angle) like the rokinon/samyang 8mm. Those go for $200-300. That or a tamron 17-50 2.8, which also goes for $300 ish.The tamron will be as wide as the 18-50, so not super fisheye/wide angle. What focal length lens do you want? Is the 18-50 wide enough for you.

This is not true at all, the tamron 17-50 is a great lens for skiing. It is a very good all round lens and a perfect upgrade for a beginner.

except for the fact that the tamron is faster, better build quality, better image quality, better bokeh, and is a constant 2.8 zoom?

oh yeah no reason to upgrade at all.....

I'd go with the Tamrom if you want an all around lens, or the Rokinon 14mm 2.8 if you want a follow cam ultra wide lens.

Yes it is, its an ultra wide angle fisheye. Its not rectilinear but its still wide angle. Dont think op cares/knows much about the way you name it...

it has nothing to do with naming it. It is a totally different looking shot than a wide angle. Yes, technically its a wideangle, but it is nowhere near similar looks to a wideangle

The fisheyes have fisheye typed distortion where the normal wide angles don't. I was just calling it an UWA since its super wide angle, not that it doesnt have distortion. Guess UWA implies its a wide angle without the fisheye distortion.

IT'S NOT A WIDEANGLE.

Dude you are wrong. Its a fisheye, "uwa fisheye" is not a lens neither is "super ultra wide angle" you are WRONG

I would care if I was OP, maybe op doesnt like the way fisheyes look and maybe thats not what hes looking for. A fishy and a UWA have two different looks.

Stop acting like you're all cool and everything is okay. You are misinforming the masses and you need to stop. Don't post something unless you know what you're talking about or else im gonna call you out on it.

All I said is UWA because its a Ultra Wide Angle. Yeah that isn't exactly 100% the correct term but honestly who the hell cares. It says "rokinon 8mm fisheye lens for canon" in the title of the damn thing, I assumed he could catch on and realize its a fisheye. And I know what a fucking fisheye lens is and that its different from a normal rectilinear one, I'm not a fucking retard. I just added UWA since its ultra wide angle,, nearly 180 degrees of coverage. You don't need to get pissed off at every single tiny mistake. Is it not an ultra wide angle lens?

Dude, you have to be kidding me.

UWA =/= fisheye.

A fisheye is a class of lens, UWA is a class of lens, THEY ARE DIFFERENT. The tokina 11-16 is a UWA and the rokinon 8mm is a fisheye. THEY ARE SO FUCKING DIFFERENT OUHGNLUARHGALUSFLOHAOAUS;FHB;OHe9p7 WGEFOuehwfupWGEFHOUWfp97gF'P[Hwef[087gEWUFOB[e79fgbE;FGwepiufgUOPEGFpye

For real though, just stop posting bullshit and I'll stop giving you shit. Maybe do a simple google search before you post something, you tend to tell everyone else to do that all the time.

QZYwhateverthefuckelsethereis

shut the fuck up and acknowledge that you were wrong, stop bullshit excusing that "oh he probably would have realized, etc." and just stop posting. i personally hate every single thing you post on here because it's dumb as shit or wrong.

He said he wanted to get an additional lens not replace a lens.... I have a tamron 17-50 and it's great. But if he already has a kit lens there'd be no point in getting two lens with such similar focal lengths unless he wanted to upgrade his kit lens, and he never said he wanted to.

i think he should sell his kit lens to get a little bit of money from that and get the tamron 17-50. i think the fixed aperture and 2.8f are worth it.

also as said above a tripod instead of a monopod would be a good idea.

You aren't him lol. He said he'd rather get a second lens than upgrade his current one... Personally I would upgrade the kit lens too but he doesn't wanna.

All I want is a good lenses for filming cuz I only have the one it comes with I mostly do follow cams and I have a few 100 to spend I can borrow a tripod from my friend if I wanted to I'm just interested in a lenses

follow cams = tamron 17-50 is the best lens for your price range. you could sell your kit lens and maybe get the tokina 11-16, but thats up to you.
