Best Investment?

whats your best investment, Id have to say a toss up between my ipod shuffle ive had for 6 years: been ejected off me skiing endless amounts of times fallen on, dropped and soaked, and that 50 dollar thing still works like a charm. and otherwise my megaphone, 30 dollar london drugs special, I can be belligerent on call and it even has a badass music loop. lets hear it?

are you fucking kidding me? Did you learn anything from the financial crash of 2008?

comercial real estate is one thing but real estate is a terrible investment

only because of the sub-primes and everything being overvalued, real-estate is still a solid long term investment as long as you have half a brain

Uhm there is so much ignorance in this post its retarded. If you bought a house within the past year you made an amazing investment since the economic standings are actually on the rise and since last year was a low point in housing prices. So say in 8 years after the next two terms of presidents the economy should be at a stable point again. Most likely in a better state than the US has seen in decades. So therefore the housing prices will be on the rise and higher than they have been in decades. Which leads to, if you bought a house in california 20 minutes from the coast in a white collar neighborhood in 2009 or 2010 for 450,000- 500,000 dollars. In 2018 that house will be about 750,000 to 1.2 million which is quite a leap in profit. So yeah real estate is a great investment and any great investment can have low points and highs. So stick through the lows and sell at the highs. Your argument was invalid and uneducated.

real estate has NEVER to date made more than a 10% return. All of which is pretty much mark to market accounting. Its been said before and I'll say it again the housing bubble has burst. Granted you can not just call investing in real estate a good or bad idea, there are way too many gray areas.

My bern helmet. I use it for everything. I also fall a lot while trying dumb shit so technically it's saved me a lot of money by not cracking open my dome. Wish I could say the same for my knee tendons but I guess that's why I now have braces.

Also every bottle of jack daniels I've ever bought, because when drinking jack awesome shit seems to happen and I kick ass at pool which scores me money. Ah drunken pool..... it's a shame you can't smoke in pool halls anymore

So you're saying no one has made a ten percent return on any real estate investment ever? That is a really stupid claim. Really think about what you just said. Like really think about it. I'm not even going to argue this with you because you have no idea what you're talking about.

Technically that's not really an investment. It's a good buy. I'm pretty sure an investment is something you can make money off of.

US real estate will keep going down. Houses will be dirt cheap. Buy a house or two, do some renovations to it. Keep it until housing market goes back up and then sell it.

Do you enjoy looking at history and just telling yourself it is wrong or what? Maybe you and ajminifuckinglongnameidad can have some tea together.

That said my best investment so far has been in college tuition. I bought tuition back in high school with my money from summer jobs at $1000-$2000 a quarter, it is now over $3000 a quarter. 150-300% is a pretty solid return on investment.

Yeah an investment is something you put money in with hopes to gain a greater return at a later time.
My best investments, Costco stock. But sadly I bought it on the stock market simulator, not real life. So I made a ton of fake money...
Best buy, (which is what your thread is geared at I think) probably my old iPod classic 120 gig. I still have like 80 gigs of space left on it, and it never runs out of battery. Love the thing. I use it every single day.

investment: A thing that is worth buying because it may be profitable or useful in the future.

my ipod and megaphone are definately useful in the future.

No.

Your ipod and megaphone are shitty investments, they will not create any positive return. They are less valuable now then they were when you bought them.

music is pretty fuckin positive, and i can be belligerent as fuck with my megaphone, i bet i could auction that bitch for 5 times i paid for it.

If you could sell it at 500% then yes it is an investment.

But how much did you spend on your ipod? What would it cost to go out and buy a new one?

Generally when people talk about investment, they are talking about something real, not some hippy douche bullshit vibes crap.

invest in some rare earth minerals or just invest in land, not necessarily houses, but just land will be a good investment :)

If you can invest in fresh water, and physically protect that investment, you will be a rich motherfucker in about 20 years.

I plan on investing in bullets, and the idea that you won't be able to protect that investment in water.

Do you know what belligerent means?[/list]

Silver bullion. Felt like a fucking pirate for a few years.

Also spending money on experiences. Some of the awesome times I've had with cool people in crazy places listening to good music are better than any stuff i could have bought.

I think my best is an ipod classic. Ive had it for at least 4 years and it's been through hell. or a pair or dragon goggles that ive bought sooooooo long ago and still rock

I bought a house 4 years ago, it's rented out, gives me an ok monthly return, the mortgage gets paid off and the value of the property has probably also increased. Maybe I could have done more with that money, but with higher risk investment options I would probably have got fucked in the GFC.

You're fucking clueless kid.

Where do you get your stats from? I would love to see you back that 10% stat up.

Ill wait.

UHM I bought a stock, I haven't made any money.....but i will.

And my xbox, and my laptop, and my fan.

well he obviously means he uses the megaphone to be hostile and aggressive, really loudly. not that hard to figure out.
