Best place on the east coast for backcountry if any. (includes canada)

I'd have to say Jay Peak is at the top of my list.

true. West coast of Newfoundland has tons of sick backcountry, with the Blomido(w)n mountains, where there is cat skiing and Gros Morne tablelands approximately 2 hours away from each other and Marble mountain in between. The Meatheads skied Trout River bowl in the tablelands filming for Wanderland. They also went to the Chic-Chocs in the Gaspe peninsula, Quebec, which has similar terrain and conditions to Western Newfoundland (their avi reports are relevant in some places here). The Chic Chocs I don't think are quite as big, but they don't take so damn long to get to. I'm heading up to the tablelands on a camping trip this weekend with some friends to do backcountry (claim!) Should be a time.

hickory hill in warrensburgh, ny. its a little ski mountain that closed down a few years back. after a good snowfall its a fun place to go
