Anyone have any thoughts on the best type/style of headphone for downhill biking? I have tried several styles and none worked particularly good with my full face..

have you tried earbuds? skullcandy makes some pretty low profile ones

also i think the bose in ear ones are pretty low profle, but more money...

One of our medics has one of those, it was hilarious we were riding up on scene and opening trails to the sweet tunes of dance mix 95 last week. It was equally funny to see kids looking around super confused to figure out where those beats were coming from and hear them humming shit in lift lines later.

i can't imagine riding dh with headphones on (i'd probably end up dying in some sort of horrific accident involving slamming into another rider and tumbling off a 200 ft. cliff), but earbuds would probably be your best bet.

Shit that would hard... but not to say I haven't done it haha
From just riding around a pump track and screwing around buds work the best. Problem that I found though is that if your wearing a full face and sweat sometimes the sweat gets in the buds and distorts the sound.

it would be so fun to get the wire wrapped around in a crash... if anything, wireless would be the answer but those cost like $500
