Best followcam mic

I Just purchased a camcorder to get some clips this year, what’s the best mic for follow cams, I got a shitty one from Amazon and it sounds horrible and the windscreen is too big so I can’t adjust the zoom. Trying to stay on the cheaper side of things I don’t need anything amazing just good enough that I won’t hear a bunch of wind and audio quality that’s better than the built in mic.

you care about your audio???

hot take but some people are doing too much with audio these days, at least for my liking. Maybe it's more do with post production but it feels kinda uncanny when the sounds are too crisp. I'm probably in the minority here but some clips are sounding too much like asmr

Posting to follow thread, i need a mic

I just picked up the rode videomic on eBay for 40 bucks, didn’t want to spend too much on it so I didn’t go with the pro but I’ll let you know how it is

stick the camera on a pole with a wide angle lens and put it so close that the person you're following sometimes hits the camera. Then zoom will be irrelevant.

Nah it’s a camcorder, the whole reason I got it was for the optical zoom. I have a stick for my GoPro.

Just arrived, I’m very happy with it. Wouldn’t be worth buying it new at $150 though.

I think the Pro costs about $200. I have used the same one for six years. Before that, I had one for four years. The Pro is covered by a 10 year warranty and it was replaced for free when I broke the first one. Well worth the cost.

I found the not pro for 40 in box on eBay, the cheapest pro I could find on eBay was like 90 so I didn’t think it would be worth it.
