Best editing/video program

Im kind of a cheap person and don't like spending to much dough but i want to invest in not just a standard editing/video program i want one that has a lot of effects and really makes a good program and edits good... any ideas?

 
theres no such thing as a cheap, anything, when your talking hard/software. unless you get the trial versions and shit for free.

 
You should try adobe premier 1.5! It's pretty hard to use but you can make awsome movies with it. The only problem is it costs 600$ but you can try the trial at the adobe website.

just illegally download Premier Pro 1.5 for PC, or if you have a Mac download FCP HD

If you dont want to spend much money, but have a legal copy of something, get pinnacle studio, or use windows movie maker, or you could download premiere pro off the web for free and have it be illegal, if you dont mind

 
It probly comes in an iso file... you can burn that to a disc with whatever program you use to burn cds... us the "burn image" or you could use daemon tools, mount it, then install.

do yourself a favor and buy a mac and final cut pro 5. You wont regret it.

FCP HD is the way to go. It should come with new Macs free anyway.

if you're looking for a program that has lots of effects, get something like Pinnacle Studio 8 or another version. if you're looking for a professional program that will allow you lots of creative control and has tons of room for expansion, get a version of Adobe Premiere. if you're looking to use effects (i'm assuming you mean stuff like wipes and crossfades and video effects) then you obviously have no use for a professional editing program. get pinnacle and you'll be happy.

wow... nobody mentioned Vegas 5.0 + architect 2.0, I have Premier 1.5 + after affects, and pinnacle 9, and Vegas owns them
