Best editing program for a noob

Looking for a cheap but good program for editing GoPro footage on a HP laptop.

Lightworks is free, open source software. Only catch is you have to pay for a membership (I don't think it's expensive) if you want to export anything larger than 720p. You will probably have to look at tutorials for some functions.

how much ram do you have? if its under 8gb you need to upgrade, regardless.

i have a mac book air 2017 sooo yeah i am getting a pc but i need to save up and i have a bunch of projects to do before i get a pc
