Myself and a mate have been looking at going to Ruka for a holiday with a big crew but this year it sadly didn't quite materialise due to money and university etc. Him and I are still looking at getting away for a bit of a park shred and maybe some urban stuff and were wondering what options there are. Had a brief look at Russia (Rosa Khutor) and some places in Slovenia and Bulgaria any experiences in these sorta spots?

Slovenia all damn day! I live in Germany after spending a lot of time in eastern Europe, I had right around the same idea you did. I only made it to Slovenia, but it was awesome. Should be good this time of year and any resort in the north is a go.

I had no idea that Slovenia is a cool version of Austria!

Had seen a few resorts out in Slovenia! Got any recommendations after a half decent terrain park but a decent mountain in general if such a thing exists

I did not spy anything but a couple boxes and small jumps. I was super into exploring and the trees out there. Let me do a google research because I don't remember the names very well.

Awesome dude, much appreciated, keen to check out somewhere where the pints are cheap and somewhere a bit different. After a quick search Vogel looks like it has a decent park.

You're making a mistake by coming to europe to ski park. Especially when it's near record snowfall this year.

True, I was in Tignes in the middle of December, snow was epic. Will be after the powder stashes too but want something with a decent park as well. Can't really afford another trip to the Alps so after a cheaper alternative with a good mix of both park and regular pow terrain

Krvavec, i'm like 90% sure. It's definitely a gamble. I don't think you'd save a ton of money by going to Eastern Europe when you factor in transportation. Cost of staying in a lot of places around the alps (like the dolomites) is really not that bad. Anywhere but Switzerland if you're trying to save money... Dolomites are worth it no matter what.

Bansko, Bulgaria is an interesting trip, great skiing, great food, just don't mind the British buying and developing half the town.

If you want to ski powder, go to Rosa Khutor, it's off the chain.

This. I found myself in Slovenia last May and it was incredible. Such a beautiful country that is part alps and part Mediterranean coast line. Really cheap and very friendly people as well.

Would love to go back. What are some of the resorts there?

Vogel is rad. Playful terrain, jump spots everywhere. Park minimal?

Saw some decent park footage and it looked well stocked to be fair. If the terrain is decent from an all mountain perspective, and spots to build jump etc plus the cheapness and everything else mentioned it seems like a great spot to check out!

I'm going to Bansko in February, we got an amazing deal for 7 days in Grand Bansko (awesome 4 star hotel) for 200$ with breakfast and late lunch when you get back from the slopes.

Friend of mine was there last year, he says that food and drinks are really cheap and extremely good in pretty much all of the restaurants where ate.

Any idea how's the park and back country situation? I Heard that yellow jackets are not that strict about off piste riding, so that's a plus.
