Best dedicated jib ski

I’m 5’7” and 150lbs. 32yr old. Expert skier. “Former” park rat, but really still am one.

I currently ski ARV 100s (size 172) as my all mountain ski and love them.

I’m looking to add a dedicated jib ski for: 1. Backyard, 2. Indoor skiing, 3. Local mountain in NJ/PA (especially early season).

^So mostly small rails and essentially no jumps.

I’m looking for something: 1. Around 160-165cm range, 2. 90mm or less underfoot. 3. Extremely light swing weight, 4. Center-mounted.

What do you recommend?

small rails+no jumps is definitely the vishnu wet. rode them the past two seasons and they jsut unlock a whole world of swerving and jibbing, way too fun on small features. also comes in a 171 but with crazy rocker so would fit you

Wets are great, maybe the wides if you want a bit more width, skis last a while too, went thru 6 pairs of armadas this season and got sum wets mid season, still holding strong. Definitely recommend vishnus

6 is crazy, how much money did that set you back.

Icelantic nomad 94 would be a great choice, one of the lightest park skis available, feels like nothing on your feet. 170 ish length would be right for you

Only about 1.5k with the guarantee the skis have, safe to say I’m done with armada for a while…

what failures were you experiencing? i've been using old pairs of liberties for my rail skis and usually get 3-4 seasons out of a pair before the edges finally rip out

Delaminating, base cracks, tail snapping off, ski snapping in 2 edges ripping out. All this stuff would happen within about a week or 2 of skiing

that is so wild. can't imagine why they were going to pieces so fast. bad batch maybe? then again, you went through 6 pairs so maybe the whole design was flawed

I was told that it might of been the new sidewall construction that was failing, all I know is that I’m probs never riding them again.

Haha thank god I sold a pair of wets :) Edge ripped of a brand new pair of edollo the same night we went to Avila

Yeah that’s bound to leave a bitter taste in your mouth. If you can grab a pair of Liberty transfers or old LTEs, I have had amazing luck with them. Maybe the sort of features I’m hitting are gentler on edges and sidewalls than you but it’s an option anyway.

I also went through three pairs of the Armada ARV 94 this season, which is the new model that supposedly has better construction with their "W3DGEWALL".

all three had edge cracks after only a few days of park skiing.

two of them had delamination in the same spot on the outside tip, and one of them somehow lost its camber and it was basically a full rocker ski. one of my favorite skis i have tried but probably won't be buying again until they improve durability.

all three were warrantied so good customer service, but just terrible quality. even my line blends and factions lasted longer than this.

How is it possible to have 7k+ posts and only 203 upvotes.

Upvotes were implemented like 8 years ago. Lots of old heads have insane post counts and no upvotes

Hi, I didn't know upvotes were a thing until a few months ago. Post count used to be the only flex we had
